How ‘Aladdin’ Embraces Shakespearean Archetypes
I have been thinking about the ‘Aladdin’ remake ever since my sister dragged me to see it when it released this summer. I wasn’t expecting to like ‘Aladdin’—the film had seemingly been in production for over two years, and it had courted plenty of controversy on its way to the big screen. The cast were unfamiliar, and the reviews were already scathing. People were especially hung up on how Will Smith couldn’t replace the late, great, Robin Williams as the Genie.

5 Hidden Horrors of ‘Thor: Ragnarok’
In an unprecedented move, Marvel released three films in 2017, ending its run with Thor: Ragnarok. By now, everyone is aware of what a fun-fest Ragnarok is; in the hands of director Taika Waititi, jokes and gags take the place of broody rhetoric. The film effortlessly puts the ‘comic’ back in comic book adaptation, which has divided some fans due to the subject matter. The Best Of Bucky: 4 Great MCU Fight Scenes Featuring The Winter Soldier
The films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, despite their varied tones and styles, are known for their action set pieces. Irrespective of which director is at the helm, the MCU’s mostly formulaic approach means its films usually open with one big fight sequence followed by a teaser fight in the middle and a climactic smash in the final act. While there may be criticisms of this style, there's plenty of excitement and anticipation for audiences.

Unpopular Opinion: Batman & Robin is a good ‘comic book’ film
It is a truth universally acknowledged that ‘Batman & Robin’ is the worst film ever made. It’s been over 20 years since the film debuted to great revile, and people are still talking about it. Every time a new Batman property is announced, the distaste for ‘Batman & Robin’ rears its head once again. There’s no arguing that the film isn’t polished, but is it really a bad ‘comic book’ film?
