Comic Book Review Round-Up—March Week 3, 2019
A new Comic Book Review Round-Up is here. This time we’ve got Nightwing #58, Batman #67, The Wild Storm #21 and The Life and Death of Toyo Harada #2. For this week’s Round-Up, I’ve eschewed my usual number ones section for an X-Men focus, featuring Uncanny X-Men #14, Age of X-Man: The Amazing Nightcrawler #2, Age of X-Man: Nextgen #2.

Comic Book Review Round-Up—April Week 3, 2019
Week three of April and my Comic Book Review Round-Up takes a look at Batman #69, Nightwing #59, Uncanny X-Men #16, Star Trek: The Q Conflict #3 and Star Wars: Age of Rebellion Special #1. Usually, I would cover the latest Age of X-Man issue, but since that series continues to be a disappointment, I don’t want to foist more negativity on you. Without further ado, here are this week’s reviews.

Comic Book Review Round-Up – February Week 3, 2019
For this week’s Comic Book Review Round-Up, I’ve mostly stuck to my favourite titles. So, find out how Batman, Nightwing, and the Uncanny X-Men are doing, while I also check out Nightcrawler’s antics in Age of X-Man. Finally, don’t miss my reviews of comic book number ones High Level, The Life and Death of Toyo Harada, and Image Comics’ Sharkey the Bounty Hunter.

Comic Book Review Round-Up – February Week 2, 2019
There are so many titles out every week, it’s almost a shame that I don’t have time to read them all. This week’s Comic Book Review Round-Up is full of Big Two stuff, plus an early edition of Valiant Comics’ The Forgotten Queen. From DC, I review the new Batman/Flash crossover, Titans #34, The Batman Who Laughs #3 and Wonder Twins #1. From Marvel, there’s more Age of X-Man action and a new Avengers title.

Has the Space Age Returned to Hollywood Once Again?
‘Space, the final frontier’ were iconic words spoken by Captain Kirk back in 1966, and still hold true today as human beings continue to look for life beyond Earth. The wonders and perils of space travel has always captured our imaginations, be it through the works of Jules Verne and HG Wells, the stories and mysteries surrounding the space race, or through the visual spectacle of cinema. Ever since Georges Méliès’ Le Voyage dans la Lune brought space exploration to life on celluloid, films and shows set in outer space have become crowd-pleasers.

Evangeline Lilly on Her Book Series, ‘The Squickerwonkers’
Evangeline Lilly is best known as the first female actor to co-lead a Marvel Cinematic Universe film. After the success of 2015’s Ant-Man, Lilly’s character Hope Van Dyne donned the mantle of The Wasp in this year’s Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Comic Book Review Round-Up – May Week 2, 2019
This week is proof that DC can’t look beyond Batman. Three major titles feature the Caped Crusader, and I review them here—Batman and the Outsiders #1, Detective Comics #1003 and The Batman Who Laughs #5. I also take a look at the conclusion of Image Comics series Vindication, and Captain Marvel #5.

Comic Book Review Round-Up Week 2
My second Comic Book Review Round-Up was a much better experience than the first. It’s been an epic week of battles between the good and evil on-page. Some heroes triumphed, others continue to battle another day. I’m really glad that the majority of the art was par for the course and none of the material was overly regressive or problematic (not any more than usual, anyway).

Resistance is Futile: Why We Love to Hate the Borg
Recently, Netflix revealed the results of a survey on Star Trek episodes, which found that some of the most re-watched Trek episodes included, surprisingly, some from Star Trek: Voyager! This came as a shock to many apparently, because the continuing hatred towards Voyager is irrepressible. The Mary Sue couldn’t understand these results, while io9 was outright baffled by these findings. Noticeably the list doesn't include any episodes from The Original Series, Deep Space Nine or Enterprise – the exclusion of the former two has left the Star Trek critics community reeling.

Comic Book Review Round-Up—March Week 2, 2019
This week, my Comic Book Review Round-Up includes two Age of X-Man titles, "Apocalypse & the X-Tracts #1 and ‘The Marvelous X-Men’ #2, DC Comics’ Titans #35 and Image Comics’ new series Assassin Nation #1. Instead of comic book number ones, here are some one-shots I enjoyed: "Star Wars: Age Of Republic - General Grievous," "Uncanny X-Men: Winter's End #1" and "The Batman Who Laughs: The Grim Knight #1."
