Toronto, Toronto
"That's the thing about this city," Isabelle says, "it's always moving and changing. You're going to love New York. We could stay for as long as you want. And we don't have to steal jewels or museum exhibits, but they're always bringing in new things so if we wanted to..."

Am I Programmed to Love Her?
I can feel my heart, if you can call it a heart, thumping. The mechanism is beating so fast because my date... no. My partner? No. My girlfriend? I hope so. Whatever I am to her — whatever she is to me — I can't explain my feelings. All I know is that each look, each touch, makes my circuits feel like they're shorting out. My heart mechanism races as she rubs little circles into my hand with her thumb. She talks about how her degrees are going. Library Science and Archaeology. The perfect education for a fellow jewel thief.

The Best View in the City
I arrive at Toronto's Union Station. I'm planning to take the PATH to the CN Tower. That's where she'll be. While her text from last night is cryptic, I know her well enough to know what she means. Her text is referencing the restaurant at the top of the CN Tower. I'm almost certain of it. That is where the best view in the city would be.

Heist at the Royal Ontario Museum
I've been coming to evening events at the Royal Ontario Museum since I started university. They're always packed with people. Packed with witnesses. It's almost impossible to do what I've been planning to do for years. But this time is different.

A Difficult Resolution
2020 derailed most of the things I was working towards. My mental health, which was already suffering, tanked. I was skipping classes because I couldn't make myself get out of bed. I was procrastinating because everything felt numb. I couldn't find the motivation to do most of the things I put on my vision board, which was full of positive energy and reminders to write and study and swim and to be confident. I was stagnant and self-sabotaging and I knew I needed to stop but I couldn't figure out how to. I'm sure part of it was the pandemic, but it was just making the symptoms of my bad brain even worse than they already were. I'm sure plenty of people can relate to that.

10 Things You Should Know About the Search For Life on Other Planets
Everyone at one time or another has looked up at the stars on a clear night with wonder. People wonder about what is out there in a universe that is so big. They wonder if humanity is alone. They wonder if someone else on some distant planet is looking at the stars and wondering the same thing. Whether extraterrestrial lifeforms are science fact or science fiction is currently unknown. There is a branch of science that aims to find out what is necessary for life to exist on other planets. They also study whether any nearby planets meet those conditions. They ask themselves questions like: what might show that a planet has life on it? What caused Earth to develop life? What counts as life? How should they study the life they may find? The scientists working on this ambitious mission are called astrobiologists. This list is a mix of frequently asked questions and informative statements. It will help people understand the search for life on other worlds.
