Plants That Clean Water By Ma'at CC
Aquatic plants play an important role in maintaining a healthy water garden or pond. They not only absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen into the water, improving the environment for fish, but absorb nutrients from the water as well. This reduction in nutrients results in clearer water and less algae. There are several different plants that can be used to help clean water. One example is the water hyacinth, a floating aquatic plant with showy purple flowers. It helps to reduce levels of ammonia, nitrates, and phosphorus in water. Another example is the water lettuce, which has the ability to filter out heavy metals from water. It also helps to reduce algae growth in the water. Finally, duckweed is a fast-growing aquatic plant that can reduce levels of phosphorus and nitrogen in water.
