Written for for L.C. Schäfer's Challenge to the Death-- original story ----- There is something in a dog’s eyes that is love in its simplest form. The worst person in the world can still be loved so purely by a dog and there is comfort in their company that is like no other.

Most terribly dark it was. The kind of darkness where you can't tell whether your eyes are open or closed. You had shoes once, at least, you think you did, but they are long gone, and the rock is sharp against your feet.
They ask me how I've made the world, but sometimes I don't know quite what to say. Why do we blow? The winds will say, and they blow further in anticipation. Why do we fly? The birds ask, gliding on wings made lighter than air. And they all have questions, they all have questions, but even I will get no answers.
A Letter From the End of the World
I am not one to wallow in lost hopes and naive dreams. That's why I wasn't all that surprised when I saw the world end. It's funny, to me; humans fear death above all else, the boss level of every video game, the monster under every bed, but what they really fear is the unknown, the terrifying thought of plunging head first into a world in which they do not understand.

00 Every night at midnight, the purple clouds come out to dance with the blushing sky. I am walking with my head up, down crowded streets, people laughing and yelling and crying. They look at me with furrowed brows when I bump into them.
