Bio
I am a Christian and a lover of sci-fi; a genre that I love for it's ability to present known ideals and beliefs in a new and unique way, which if presented any other way, would be all but ignored.

Dear Mom
With the exception of the past two years, every summer when the weather broke, I would start to get a sense of dread that seemingly came out of nowhere. This dread became a deep sorrow that seemed to fill my heart and was unassociated with anything I was doing or who I was around. It took me some time to realize that this feeling happened because it was the summer break between middle and high school break when my mom passed away. As sorrowful as an event this was, I have often told people that it was not her death that affected me as much as it was how she lived. My mom was an alcoholic and abused other drugs, and for a while, I sat in a place of unforgiveness for what she did. The following is my story of how I learned to forgive her.

The Meaning of Things
"SKKKKKCCCHHHH!" Hay scatters as I slide the door open of an an old barn in the middle of no where. It is a makeshift hospital we put together to take care of the stranded. "Hungf!" I run inside, fleeing the eccentric wind outside that seeks to show me what it's like to dance with death, then turn against the door, summoning all the strength I have left in me to push it shut, and with one last shrug..."Uff!"...it is closed.

THE POWER
"You mean the world to me; you can't leave now...you can't." I say these words looking into your eyes, eyes that switch back and forth between life and death. I follow you down the hallway the doctors are rolling you down, holding onto your slipping hand as best I can as if to keep you alive, when we get to the door that I have come to loathe.

"Why Don't You Talk Black?"
Being born in the late '80s and growing up in the '90s meant that black looked, sounded, and acted a certain way that I didn't always quite live up to. I sucked at basketball, wore button-ups and payless shoes, and wasn’t allowed to listen to my first rap album until the age of 17 solely because the artist had a song called "Jesus Walks;” only to have it quickly taken away because my Dad didn't want me listening to such a "lost young man."

HARMAGEDDON CITY (Interlude)
“Fruits that heal any disease, that can increase one’s life expectancy by 100’s of years,” I recall these words as I gaze at the orchid in the distance, the bright reds and yellows of which can still be seen in the darkness. New Jerusalem. The Promised Land. They call this place impossible, a land of miracles, where one’s soul can finally find rest. But as I walk along the cold sand of the beach’s shore, my thoughts begin to wander, traversing the planes of time’s past.
