Lyla awoke sometime midday, and went to her phone, vaguely remembering the faint buzz before she was whisked off to sleep. On it were a list of texts from her friends, including Alex; she wanted to read that one most of all. The ache she felt when she left had slowly creeped back in, and she determined she would check her messages after she had put food on her stomach.

Lyla was awoken by a shadowy figure looming over her. As she sat up all too quickly, she connected foreheads with Serena, "Ow! What are you doing on top of me?" she demanded. Rubbing the now red spot above her brows she glanced over at her digital clock that sat on her nightstand, and quickly snapped her head back to Serena, "It's six in the morning! What are you doing on top of me at six in the morning?!" Her eyes shifted to the extra pairs of eyes peering into the room; the girls sitting against the way now reanimated to the sound of her arousal.

After everyone had finished their drinks, they all headed towards the condo. Although, Lyla and Alex headed in a different direction, because Lyla had not forgotten the motorcycle sitting in the campus parking lot awaiting its riders' return. Lyla waited for Alex to start up the bike so he could follow her home. They both took off in the direction of the condo; Lyla was feeling exhilarated because she had just invited a boy to stay with her, and one she had just met that day. She had to pull herself out of her own mind because she realized she had momentarily lost Alex and was speeding, so she slowed down until she spotted the headlight on his motorcycle, then continued driving like a model citizen.

She checked her phone - expecting a text to be waiting from her best friend; there always was, every. Single. Morning. Lyla couldn't complain she loved her best friend like a sister; they had done everything together since Lyla moved there in the first grade. She was used to her best friend, Serena, staying up late or getting up extremely early to leave an expectant message for Lyla; it was the best part of her morning.
