Alex and Lyla arrived at the mini golfing course. As they walked up to the entrance, Alex continued to hold Lyla's hand in his. The staff member passing out golf clubs smiled at them, "what can I do for such a lovely couple?" He had been hinting at their conjoined hands, and Lyla and Alex looked at each other in surprise and chuckled towards him.

"Oh, no we're not... We're just friends," Alex proclaimed, immediately letting go of Lyla's hand. They both felt a twinge of pain, but they both knew the truth; they were only just friends. They received their clubs and continued out to the golf course. They played all eighteen holes and had actually enjoyed each other's company and playing mini golf.

They had decided to head back to the condo to get some lunch and see what kinds of trouble that Serena and Jessica had gotten into. When they returned, the house was quiet; they figured that they had left, but then they heard the faint sound of a television and other natural sounds. They were in Serena's room, and they were probably up to no good. In order to not hear the small moans coming from the room they decided lunch outside the house would be best.

"If you'd like we can head over to where Ann works. She works at fast food joint," Lyla stated, trying to forget the awkwardness that had just occurred moments before. Serena and Jessica getting together like that normally only happens at Jessica's apartment, so for them to be going at each other like high schoolers upstairs meant they truly thought they were alone in the house, and that they hadn't been having sex at Jessica's like Lyla thought they were. Serena had been spending the whole week at Jessica's, so she assumed they were.

Alex agreed to going to the restaurant, so they headed that way in the car, this time with Lyla driving. When they arrived, they were greeted with warmth from Ann and her coworkers. They liked when Lyla came to visit, because she always used her dad's card and always tipped them way too well.

"Lyla, what are you doing here today? I thought you two were hanging out with each other?" she asked, astoundingly.

"Well, if you must know, Serena and Jessica have turned their room into their own private dungeon from what I could hear," Lyla said, exaggerating the details.

"So, I should come home late?" Ann asked jesting back to Lyla.

"Probably would be safer," Lyla joked. After recounting what happened back at the condo, Lyla and Alex order their lunches and headed over to a booth far away from the rest of the patrons. They were in their own little world.

"I'm so sorry about what happened back at the condo," Lyla said sincerely.

"No need, people do it all the time," he replied. He didn't want to admit that he was a little put off by it, because he had never been in such a situation. He hoped that the rest of the week wouldn't put him in the position again, so he put a smile on his face for her.

When they finished eating their lunches, they had stopped at the counter to say their goodbyes to Ann, then departed out to the car. Alex started towards Lyla's side of the car to hold the door open for her, and she blushed slightly. Mixed emotions and thoughts swelling in her brain and body. She wasn't sure if she should like him or not, or if he liked her or not.

While they decided if they wanted to go back to the condo or not, they drove through a downtown area. "I'm glad you're doing this. I don't really visit a lot of places here when I come visit my mom," Alex confessed. It was the truth because Alex had always kept to his mom's office whenever he came to visit and got out occasionally if he wanted to do or get something, but he had never ventured out.

Lyla had pulled over to shoot off a text to Serena in the group chat that all the girls were in.

-Lyla: Hey S, is it safe for us to come home or should we stay out a little longer for you to finish things up?

Alex peered over her shoulder to see what she sent and snickered after he read it. Lyla stuck her tongue out at him and went back to waiting for Serena to answer. Alex continued admiring Lyla as she waited, but his thoughts conflicted with what he felt. He found her very beautiful, and he had begun to like the person he met the day before, but he didn't know why he couldn't get all of this to sit right within him.

Lyla looked up as she could feel eyes on her. Her gaze met his, and with her heart beating into the silence that was just created, she kissed him. It was a delicious kiss that tasted of cherry and spearmint - she had just taken a piece of gum from her middle console. In the moment Alex had leaned into the kiss for more, cupping his hand to the back of her head. Silent moans sneaking out of the space between their lips.

When the moment passed, Alex sat back in his chair, and catching his breath he put his head down. "We shouldn't have done that, I'm sorry," he said out of bafflement at what he had just done. He covered his mouth, perplexed about what this meant for the both of them. "We only just met, and I didn't want this to go anywhere, at least not at this very moment," he said solemnly.

Lyla carefully listened to the words he said, and one thing only stood out to her - 'not at this very moment.' Her heart cartwheeled only a bit at the fact that it was just a case of 'the wrong time' for them. "I should have asked before I did that," Lyla said to herself, then began to mentally beat herself up over the act she just committed; his kiss still lingering on her lips, and the heat beneath her hips all too slowly dissipating.

They both sat in silence as Lyla drove them home. She hadn't even checked her messages before she drove off, and when she arrived, she had not been prepared for the scene she had come home to. Serena and Jessica milling about the kitchen - naked. Stark naked. She moved to push Alex back out the door with a hurried, 'stay put,' then she rushed back inside.

"Serena, Jessica, go put clothes on. We have a guy staying here and he almost walked into you guys being naked," she bellowed at them. They snapped around to her in surprise.

"Lyla, you weren't supposed to be home yet."

"Well, I ruined our hangout, so we had to come back," her voice starting to level out with hers.

"What happened?" she asked as she stepped closer. Lyla back away slowly with her steps.

She gestured to her nakedness and asked if they would go clothe themselves. She told them that she would meet them in Serena's room after she got Alex settled. The girls headed up the stairs and Lyla went back out to the porch.

"Were they--" he began.

"Naked? Yeah, they were," she stated as she ushered him into the condo. She let him know that he could stay downstairs and do whatever he chose, or that he could go to his room, but to stay out of Serena's room because she had to have a word with her. When he nodded, grabbed a gaming controller, and parked himself on the couch, she then headed up the stairs.
