The Fast and Furious Cinematic Universe
The Fast and Furious franchise is one of the most insane, successful, and surprisingly compelling franchises of all time, and it also has this strange but fascinating expanded universe. I'm not talking about Shobbs and Haw, because everyone already knows about that movie. I'm talking about the properties that you might not know about, indie movies, short films, and Netflix series. And now that Fast and Furious 9 has been delayed a whole year, it's the perfect time to dive into the Fast and Furious Cinematic Universe.

How 'The Knight Before Christmas' Wasted a Perfect Title
So I’m not really one for Hallmark Christmas movies, or one for romantic comedies either. But after seeing the trailer for Netflix’s The Knight Before Christmas, oh baby, I was in. The movie has such a perfectly dumb premise that it’s kind of genius. A medieval knight travels through time to fall in love with Vanessa Hudgens, and the movie is called The Knight Before Christmas. Knight with a K, it’s fucking brilliant. So I watched it.

'Totally Spies!' - The Superior 'Charlie's Angels'
Charlie's Angels (2019) is a reboot of the movie Charlie's Angels (2000) which is a reboot of the TV show Charlie's Angels (1976). But does anyone even care about this property? I feel like the only reason people saw the first movie was because it had stars that were big at the time. But like, Kristen Stewart hasn't really done anything in a while, I didn't see the new Aladdin so I don't know who Naomi Scott is and I haven't seen nothing so I don't know who Ella Balinska is. I guess Elizabeth Banks is in this and seems to be playing Charlie kind of, because Hollywood is doing this thing where they just recast franchises with women when the boys are done playing with them. Even properties that are led by women can still recast male characters with women sometimes. Why not just create new franchises and properties led by women? Anyone? No? But even with Elizabeth Banks, I don't know if anyone cares about this franchise. I think the reason the original movie works, apart from the great cast, is that it's campy, it's fun and over the top, and doesn't take itself too seriously. Look, I haven't seen the new one yet but from the trailers it looks like another bland blockbuster. So what do I suggest as a solution to this? Easy, we reboot another property from the same era, that is essentially the same premise but could actually benefit from the live action treatment: Totally Spies!

Top 9 Underrated Vampire Movies
Vampires are cool. Vampire movies might just be a little cooler. In honour of Spooktober, I'm gonna count down the top nine movies about vampires because I want to talk about vampires, and I feel that vampires don't get the credit and attention that they deserve! Also, I'm not going to talk about any of the Dracula movies, because hot take: EVERY DRACULA MOVIE IS BAD. Gary Oldman has a terrible wig in the Coppola one, aside from Bela Lugosi's performance, the original is boring, and I haven't seen Dracula Untold, but somehow I doubt it will change my mind. So without further ado, Vampire Movies.

I Got Shudder for a Month. Is It Worth It?
It was April 2019. I had recently watched Jordan Peele's Us, and had heard about a documentary he was featured in called Horror Noire. It sounded cool, but the only way to watch the documentary was a new streaming service called Shudder, which focuses on horror, cult, and genre movies. So I signed up for a week long free trial, but at the end of the week when I went to cancel my subscription, they offered me a month long free trial. So I said, "What the hell?" I was writing a horror movie at the time, and a little extra inspiration couldn't hurt. So I gave Shudder a try.

'She-Hulk' Pitch
I really like She-Hulk. I think she’s a really fun and unique character. She has way more personality than you would expect from a character originally created to stop the 70s TV show at the time from making a spinoff. I recently started reading and collecting John Byrne's Sensational She-Hulk run, and I really got into it. So, logically, I came up with a pitch for a She-Hulk movie.

'The Dragon Prince' Season 2: There Are Dragons Now!
There's dragons now! Dragons in the show titled "The Dragon Prince!" It only took 2 seasons for dragons to show up! But in all seriousness, this season of Netflix's The Dragon Prince was a vast improvement from the first season of the show, and had a lot more of what I hoped for the series, including more dragons.

She-Ra Is the Best New 'Star Wars'
For whatever reason, Netflix has consistently put out quality cartoon reboots of 80s properties; Voltron, Castlevania, Carmen Sandiego. But the one that I am constantly surprised by just how genuinely good it is, is She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. This show is not only a great science-fantasy show, but it’s giving me the fix I need that I should be getting from Disney’s Star Wars sequels.
