cobalt slumbering creature of the deep; rise now take disbelievers.

velvet moonbeam, stroke my cheek, smear midnight blue in my soul’s alleyways.
turquoise tide pool, left behind by receding waves, abandoned bounty
bluebells tinkle, brought on the wind; fairy music wild and unbroken.
blue nail polish, an homage to my big sister. won’t return my calls.
blue ribbon, unfurled, discarded with the wrapping; treasure become trash.
cut into the cake I don’t care which color is there; he wants a boy.
our aching blue home what have we done to you with insatiable greed?
whether the world ends in fire or in ice, no doubt, blue will be there.
periwinkle breath intermingles with the frost; winter’s gentle birth.
gradient’s ending, nearly white-blue; murmuring gentle promises
iciness deceives. the shade of your eyes belies the warmth in your heart.
