Dirty Laundry: true stories from an escort
I took the card with “Angie” written on it and tossed it on my kitchen counter along with my keys and debit card and glasses. There it sat, untouched for almost a month. Day after day I would notice it there as I came and went and I pretend not to see it. I told myself I would never need it. I would never do something like that again. So, why then, did I not throw it out? Why was it conveniently still sitting there at the end of the month? After almost 2 months of no work, there it was. After calling my landlord and telling her I was going to be late with the rent for a second time, there it was. Laying face up, staring at me.

NEW WESTMINISTER, B.C. When we first moved out of my Great Grampa’s house, we lived in a small one-bedroom apartment on the 3rd floor of an old building in New Westminister. My step-sister and I shared the one-bedroom that was beside the bathroom on one half of the apartment. My parents’ bed was in the living room area occupying the other half of the apartment. It was a small but open concept living space with a retractable, accordion-type plastic door that ran the entire length of the kitchen counters: separating the kitchen area from the living room area.

RESOLUTIONS I don't usually do New Year's Resolutions. I am always trying to improve myself and my habits, year round. New Years doesn't really bring the same feeling of renewal that I get from looking at a To Do list all checked off and finished! However seeing as we are still in the grips of a new year and there is something I am whole heartedly making an effort to focus on, I feel it appropriate to label it a resolution. I think it is a resolution we all share in a way, though it often comes disguised as something else.

Dirty Laundry
My heart was in my throat and my stomach churned with excitement as I walked around the open gate of the chain link fence that surrounded the used car dealership. I felt like skipping. I was doing it! I was there to pick up my new car. With my bright eyes fixed on my new baby I felt as if I was walking on air as I strode up to the 1995, jelly bean purple, Dodge Neon. Though it was already 9 years old, it was so shiny and new to me. It looked completely modern compared to my old 1988 Subaru hatch back I was getting rid of.
