A Journey Through Shadows
The delicate lace of my beloved nude nightgown dances lightly against the contours of my chest, inciting an intimate whisper of sensation. The melodious strains of James Hill add a subtle harmony to the balmy summer night, an invisible orchestra playing a serenade just for me. Incense weaves its smoky tendrils throughout the bedroom, blending with the invigorating evening air that sneaks in through the bedroom window left ajar. This alchemy of elements, meticulously arranged, has fashioned a sanctuary that is, in essence, calming yet invigorating, introspective yet expansive, and subtly provocative.

For this poem I chose a romance stanza, a six line stanza with a aabaabrhyme scheme. The 3rd and 6th line have three accents while the rest have four.

Close my Eye
When I close my eyes and let my mind wander to think of the music that made me feel, some moments in life come to the forefront of my mind. I can hear the music as I realize the moments. I'll try and write about each one in chronological order, but the truth is each memory, the sounds and feelings, flutter past my shut eyes in discernable order.

Revert
We need a contingency plan. The world is burning. Democracy is too unstable. We need a monarchy and reliable succession. He had drafted the legislation. The cost of living was absurd. People were suffering because politicians could not agree, too busy fighting to realize that the public services, our safe gaps, were failing.

The Grove
Abby entered her English 1000 class. She was early, just how she liked it. She needed to make a good impression, the professor was a brilliant author, and she just had to learn everything from him. She sat in the front row, pulled out her new notebook and opened it to the new first page. She wrote the class and date at the top. Since she was early, she pulled a book from her backpack and began to read. Abby loved to read almost as much as she hated making meaningless conversations. So keeping a book in her bag was the perfect solution. She would always have a world for her mind to get lost in and avoid the awkward silence of a room full of first-year English literature students.
