Test the ability to inflate the sail

the sail

By DiscoveryPublished 4 days ago 1 min read

To test the effect of blowing on a sail to move a boat forward, I will plug in a fan and observe the results. I plan to travel 4000 miles to the equator to stand in both the northern and southern hemispheres and investigate a tourist demonstration involving water swirling and draining in different directions on each side of the equator. Additionally, I aim to explore six other physics and engineering puzzles through simple demonstrations in this video. The ultimate goal is for viewers to comprehend the correct answers, not just know them. As for the moon's appearance in the sky, it appears upside down in the southern hemisphere compared to the northern hemisphere due to the Earth's spherical shape. Regarding the ellipse shape formed by connecting two pins with a string, the focus points play a crucial role in reflecting light and sound. A room built in the shape of an ellipse can transmit whispers from one focus point to the other, as demonstrated by John Quincy Adams in the US Capitol building. When accelerating or braking in a car, objects inside behave differently due to Newton's laws and the mass of the surrounding air. Air molecules have weight, affecting the movement of objects within a vehicle. The demonstration with a balloon hitting a sign showcases how adding air increases mass and influences the balloon's behavior when the car brakes.
