Introduction

I thought I would gather together ten of my most read art inspired stories. Art seems to be my inspiration these days as my Muse has gone.

This is a previous piece I did on artists I know or am aquainted with.

ONE

This is my most read story of all, inspired by album covers that I loved when I first saw them, and still do now. Everything featured in this story I have vinyl copies of.

TWO

My second most read story features the art of Martin Muller (Neon Park). I have all of these on CD or vinyl in my collection. Again these are album covers but wonderful art nonetheless.

THREE

This is my most by an artist I am Facebook friends with. Carl B Parker in the husband of Misty Re who you know from her wonderful Vocal writing.

FOUR

Gavin Penn has a gallery in Alnwich, that I visit when I am there on holiday, and his art features on many album covers as well as being worthy of standing on it's own.

FIVE

I'm not sure when I first saw the work of Roger Dean, it was probably a Yes album. I have several books of his artwork and am currently pursuing one of his earlier works which is proving very elusive.

SIX

I love the work of Guy Peelaert, and this image was perfect for a Vocal challenge many years ago. Again I have many of his books of amazing artwork.

SEVEN

Chris Morton designed may images and covers for labels, especially Stiff, and I have met and chatted with him many times, but this was about the exhibition he put on in High Bridge, Newcastle.

This is my interview with him

EIGHT

I have done well over a hundred pieces inspired by Angie Livingstone's work and we have two collaborative books available on Amazon.

At this point Vocal's stats are all to pot so I will finish with a few more selections that have been popular.

NINE

Justine Capelli's art is inspired by Celtic myths and we are working towards producting a book together.

TEN

I love John Coatsworth's almost surreal pictures of Newcastle, especially the bridges.

ELEVEN

John Martin is probably the greatest ever artist to come from North East England. His paintings hang in some of our museums but he is very good at depicting Armageddon scenarios.

Conclusion

I'll leave you with the many places in my home city where I can see art for real.

Thank you so much for reading and the music is "Paiter Man" by The Creation, I believe the first band to use a violin bow on an electric guitar.
