Orion Q Pods

The Orion Q is a well-made and attractive pod device. The Orion Q is far more sophisticated than most other pod systems on the market.

It has some weight but doesn't make it difficult to carry. It is a rectangular pod vaporizer constructed of carbon fiber panels and a stainless steel chassis. The most significant pod vape of 2017 was the Orion GO. In 2019, Lost Vape unveiled the Orion Quest, the second iteration. (Q). Although it costs about half as much, it is a scaled-down version of the original Orion Go and lacks the electrical characteristics that give it its distinctiveness.

The Orion Q's internal battery has a 950 mAh capacity and a 17-watt maximum power output. The Evolv DNA board and adjustability are not present. The product comes with a single 2 mL pod with a 1.0-ohm Kanthal coil or is sold separately without any pods (the only official Quest pod).

Build Quality

The Quest weighs roughly 85 grams and measures 93 mm x 37 mm x 13.5 mm when the thick plastic pod is inside. The patented mouthpiece's base includes a knurled ring that controls the dual-slotted adjustable airflow, and the top of the pod has a screw-top fill outlet. It is straightforward to fill the pod. Juice practically pours into it,

The pods are highly secure once they are inside the apparatus. The pods enter a track-and-catch system and are released from a movable switch on the side of the device.

Angle the pod's base (the mouthpiece side) toward the back of the pod housing to install it, and then press down on the replenished top until you hear a click.

The rounded firing button is located beneath the pod release switch. It's sensitive and raised enough so you can find it without looking. Mine has the slightest rattle, but it only occurs when I shake it aggressively.

Performance

The Orion Q Pods performs well, and I enjoy using it, but it could be more complex. Some pods have too much cotton in the coil, even though they silently vape and don't leak, spit, or explode.

As a result, it takes longer for the coil to saturate and break in. Occasionally, a sizable amount of the first fill tastes odd, almost like a scorched hit. Additionally, the flavor carries over longer than usual, thanks to all that cotton.

The pods last me each for around a week (or 1-2 refills a day) once the coils break in before the taste deteriorates. The 1.0-ohm Q pods perform best with DL lung hits or constrained lung hits with high VG juice, but they also vape effectively with flavor and vapor.

Performing DL hits on a 1.0-ohm pod defies logic, but it is effective. Sadly, the Q doesn't perform well for me when I use MTL; the 17 watts on the 1.0-ohm coil cause the tip to become too hot when taking sequential hits when the airflow is blocked.

The Battery Performance!

In contrast, the front and bottom micro USB ports of the GO are sensibly positioned even if they are just used for charging. Using the curiously positioned bottom connector, the GO may also get firmware and escribe upgrades.

Three distinct colors are used to indicate the charge state on a tiny LED that is located just above the micro USB port:

In blue light, 64–100.

Violet: 18–64%.

Red: 0-17%.

I've had amazing battery life with both 0.5-ohm (GO) and 1.0-ohm (Q) pods. My light seems to stay on for a lot longer than the % available even when it is red. I regularly use a charge for two full days. According to my timing, while it was connected to my computer, it took more than 90 minutes to finish charging; pass-through charging would have sped up the process. Don't wait for the light to go out; it will change to blue when the charge is finished. The Q's battery life is typically a plus if you want a compact, pocket-sized tablet!

To Conclude!

The Orion Q Pods is a good purchase and costs half as much as the GO. Although the Q has flaws, it still outperforms most pod vapes available today. The cotton inside the pods is the one thing that lowers the quality of the vapor. Therefore I hope Lost Vape reduces it.

Even so, the Q is difficult to top for a long-lasting battery combined with a high-quality build and design. It needs some of the electrical capabilities that the GO has, but those features are more expensive and only some people need or want them all. For DL or limited lung hits, I feel comfortable taking the product as-is while using low mg e-juice, however, I wouldn't advise doing so when using high-strength nic salts. Keep in mind that Lost Vape only suggests pairing the Q with the Q pods.
