I love rain, strange, I know. I can see myself in it, sometimes raining so calmly, and other times pouring so heavily. It’s as if it has feelings too. In one instant, it’s serene, and in another, it’s fierce and furious. I can relate, no words need to be spoken. I can simply feel its emotions, its ups and downs.
It rains so calmly that you can close your eyes and feel all that peace in your heart. The trees, houses, and grass are all wet. It’s fascinating to notice that somewhere among those little leaves, the rain gently caresses the wet surface. The trunk gets wet too; it’s as if it has been waiting for so long to dance with the water. From the trees, you can see the deep roots embedded in the earth, which now breathe through the water. Water is so precious that you can’t even begin to estimate its worth. It’s a source of life and a valuable treasure.
As you carefully observe the tree’s roots, they want to move from where they are and go elsewhere. However, next to them are the remnants of another tree, seemingly holding hands, and saying, “Stay.” Even though one tree might appear clear, the other has some branches broken. Perhaps somewhere else, it would find richer soil and might feel better. Yet, it stands firm here, even though this land is poorer and offers less.
The rain starts to grow bored and irritated, falling louder and more intensely. Its sound is everywhere — in every house, on the earth, in the cars, and on those two trees. Those two trees don’t budge, despite the rain’s attempts to tempt them. They stand there unwavering, hand in hand. You realize that no matter how much rain falls, it can’t deter them. They stand stronger, unbreakable, and eternal.
