Is Writing My Future? . Top Story - November 2023.
I write because I honestly can’t draw what I see in my head. No, but really, why do I write? Why do I waste time sitting in front of blank screens and empty pieces of paper, the pristine white taunting me, pushing me away, telling me not to come back unless I actually have a good idea?

Poetry? But Why?
Introduction These are just my own thoughts on poetry, they are not right, wrong, or definitive and you may completely disagree with me. These thoughts may be repetitions of things I have already shared on Vocal and are mainly about how I feel and execute my poetry.

Arid
Underneath the flickering neon lights of the bustling city, I found myself entangled in the rhythmic chaos of urban life. It was a place where dreams were woven into the fabric of skyscrapers, and ambitions soared higher than the concrete structures that pierced the sky. Amidst the cacophony of honking horns and distant sirens, I stumbled upon an old bookstore tucked away in a narrow alley. The bell above the door chimed as I entered, greeted by the musty scent of aging paper and the soft creaking of wooden shelves. The elderly owner, with wisps of gray hair and an air of wisdom, looked up from behind the counter. His eyes sparkled with the knowledge of countless stories waiting to be discovered. I spent hours lost among the shelves, immersing myself in worlds crafted by words. It was there that I found an ancient tome, its leather cover worn and pages yellowed. The title, "The Mirage's Embrace," beckoned me, promising a tale of love and adventure set in a distant desert. As I delved into the narrative, the story unfolded like a mirage on the horizon. It transported me to a realm of endless dunes, where an oasis hid secrets of the past and whispered promises of the future. The characters came alive, their struggles and triumphs mirroring the undulating sands beneath the scorching sun. The protagonist, a daring explorer named Isra, sought the fabled City of Radiance, rumored to hold the key to eternal life. Along her journey, she encountered a mysterious guide named Azim, whose eyes held the depth of ancient wisdom. Together, they faced treacherous sandstorms, cunning desert nomads, and the allure of forbidden love. As the final chapters unfolded, Isra and Azim reached the heart of the desert. The City of Radiance shimmered in the distance, its spires rising like a mirage against the horizon. Yet, with each step, the city seemed to retreat, an elusive illusion dancing on the edges of reality. The climax reached its zenith as Isra stood alone in the vastness of the desert, surrounded by the haunting echoes of her quest. The city, once so close, now faded like a wisp of smoke, leaving nothing but the endless expanse of dunes. The truth unfolded-the City of Radiance was a mere illusion, a reflection of unattainable desires. Engulfed in the desert's parched silence, I was nothing but another grain of sand in the wind. The pages of the ancient tome rustled, as if the story itself sighed with the weight of unfulfilled dreams. I closed the book, feeling a profound sense of loss and yet, oddly, liberation. The city outside the bookstore, with its towering ambitions, suddenly felt small compared to the vast emptiness of the desert that now lingered in my mind. With the weight of the story lingering in my thoughts, I stepped back into the city's neon glow. The streets seemed different, the buildings less imposing. As the night unfolded, I found myself drawn to the outskirts, where the desert's quiet call echoed in the distance. In the quiet solitude of the desert, I discovered a different kind of richness-the simplicity of the arid landscape, the beauty of endless horizons, and the whispers of the wind telling stories of time immemorial. The city's allure faded, replaced by the enchantment of the untamed desert. Engulfed in the desert's parched silence, I was nothing but another grain of sand in the wind. And as the wind carried me across the dunes, I realized that sometimes, in losing illusions, one finds the truest of treasures-freedom in the vast expanse of the unknown.

A Six Pack of Writers. Top Story - November 2023.
Hi my name is Rick Henry Christopher On March 8, 2022 I created the Facebook group Vocal + Assist. I had been a creator with Vocal Media since May 25, 2021. That was during a very trying time in my life. It was a few months after I went through radiation treatments for prostate cancer. Shortly after that my mom began hallucinating pretty bad and ended up in the hospital. After that she required round the clock care having been diagnosed with dementia and Major Depressive Disorder. My brother and I taught ourselves how to care for my mom in this condition which also included the fact that she is completely blind and is now incontinent. Then my brother became sick only two months later and he passed away on January 31, 2021.

What Women Think about SEX Versus Reality
As a woman, I have always been intrigued by the societal norms and expectations surrounding sex. Growing up, I was taught that sex was something that women had to be cautious about and that a woman’s worth was often determined by her sexual behavior. However, as I grew older and had my own experiences, I realized that there was often a stark difference between what women think about sex and the reality of the situation.
