The Stewart Paradox
"I always try to be sincere. That I actually do put effort into the madness. That I want to connect with people and every time someone says "that resonates" or "howthefuckdidyoucomeupwiththat," it makes me feel a bit warm. I dunno...yeah. That I care. " — Paul Stewart, Center Stage with Paul Stewart: A Creators in the Limelight Series, Heather Hubler (2023)

A Complete Sentence
"Nice Words! Come read my words, too! Subscribe me, too! You will like it!" Jennifer sighed as she read the first comment on her new Vocal Challenge entry. She'd been so excited to see a notification arrive just minutes after it had gone live; usually she saw only one or two comments on any of her writing. Getting feedback so soon must be a good sign, right?

No More Pixie Dust. Top Story - July 2026.
Fuck you, Peter!! I am tired of living in your shadow so you can be the “brave” man-child for the Lost Boys. I probably wouldn’t mind so much if the loyalty I have shown you were ever reciprocated, but it’s not. You spend days at Mermaid Lagoon with those sexy sirens in their skimpy bikini tops. And though you say you have no romantic feelings for Tiger Lily, you never distance yourself when she’s flirting with you.

Your Writing Refuses to Stay in One Lane
I think a lot of people run into this, mostly because we mix up two different questions. You might spend a week writing about relationships, grief, then get interested in AI, then disappear into books about creativity. A month later you’re thinking about politics instead. None of that feels strange while you’re doing it. Your curiosity is broad, so writing about different subjects feels natural.

Why him?. Honorable Mention in The Posthumous Author Challenge.
From the Canadian Authors’ Encyclopedia: In the annals of literary achievement, there may be nothing to compare to the career of Kendall August Defoe ( OC, OM, GG, Nobel? ). I add the question mark to this description because of recent news regarding the procedures of the Nobel Committee and the politics therein, but it is, surprisingly, the least interesting thing about this particular entry.

The Account Remains
The opening line, “It’s not my job or my commission to make you feel at ease when you turn the page in my ledger,” carries an implied message beneath the literal wording. If the person behind the ledger likely carried an attitude of “fuck you,” that meaning would exist as a hidden emotional layer rather than a spoken phrase. The poem begins with distance, refusal, and a rejection of responsibility for another person’s comfort.

The No-Nonsense Writer
As I approach the important milestone of 500 stories written and published on Vocal, I want to spend a few moments of everyone's time to discuss the reasons why I'm so harsh towards certain players and teams. When I first joined this platform nearly 10 years ago, I wanted to write about anything from my personal experiences to current events happening right now. I do my due diligence to encourage everyone to take something away from the stories I write and learn from them. In this story, I'll go over some people and teams that I've called out and heavily criticized. Some people need to hear the truth, and I refuse to make excuses for other people's wrongdoings. Plus, I won't sugarcoat anything in order to make someone feel comfortable. I stand by everything I've written so far, making zero apologies.

Questions on Vocal
I am confused I thought free account creators lost our earnings from reads, but it seems that I am still earning somehow. When does some of those new rules start like no more earning for free account creators? I thought it started when we all were or most were getting verified and all the new rules. I have only made maybe rounding off about 15 or less cents over the past two weeks. I like earning from reads, but being a free account creator will I continue to earn, or does it just stop come August? I wish Vocal reads my suggestion about a $5 bonus for reading and commenting if they do take away my chance to earn on reads.
