Comments – The Sweet Sauce for the Vocal Pie
Every writer has their own reasons for writing. Every story, whether it's poetry, fiction, humour, or fact, has a purpose. We write to share ideas and tell stories, both real and imagined. We express our feelings and can also earn money. I'm sure that's the aim of many people. It’s unlikely you can make a living from writing without lots of talent or a large following. The exception is those who regularly win in competitions.

Writing Reflections: Neuschwanstein Castle. Top Story - September 2026.
Happy Saturday, folks! I’m back with another Writing Reflection. Today, I want to talk about a unique kind of poem. I suppose that you could call it an ekphrasis because it talks about art, though I never really have seemed to have mastered this type of poem—which might be exactly why I should talk about it a Writing Reflection.

Stanzas and Lines
I have been reading quite a few writers' works here on Vocal. One prominent thing is the constant visual of line after line after line, with no page breaks, line breaks, stanzas, or the like. If there is not a tutorial on how to write on Vocal and use their tools, there should be one. A couple of things are hard to find and see.

"Write On, Write Off" to The Yale Review
I had recently seen a post from The Yale Review on Instagram, where they were promoting a piece they had published from a writer talking all about how great it was that he was able to use AI to find his love for writing again. Yes, The Yale Review, a highly respected journal, not only published a piece where a "writer" talked about using AI, but promoted it for all to see.

Writers & their ego
Writers have this familiar way of using people. Often it’s premeditated rarely it’s unintentional. We go about casual conversation with an undertone of interrogation because we don’t trust anything with a pulse. We ask the questions, & we want answers in poetry, filled with metaphors & oxymorons, but when you deal with mediocre chitchat, what do we really expect to get?

Musings, Jokes, and Dreams to Wake Me Up 2
I have a certain routine that I like to keep, but that hinges on me waking up within a certain timeframe. I like to be up and getting ready between 7:30 A.M. and 8:30 A.M. Sometimes, I don’t wake up within that timeframe and it winds up being afterwards, but it isn’t as if I can’t still do many of the things that I want to do throughout the day. But everything gets pushed back, or I often wind up with less time for certain things, etc. I don’t NEED to be up this early and I CAN wake up an hour later, but when I do it too often, my other projects get less time.
