The Vocal Situation
Introduction Thankfully I can now publish and there are some improvement in the editor although I hate the autosave feature. When it fails and says it is saved locally you don;t know whether to trust it. As yet it has worked for me, but I do save an offline copy just in case.

More On Writing On Vocal
Introduction The title came to me while I was out walking, and written down it is fine, but when you say it out loud it will sound very like "Moron Writing On Vocal" which I know is the opinion of a few in the Vocal community, though it does make a slightly humourous introduction to this article.

Why I Fail as a Vocal Writer
I joined Vocal in January 2022. To date, I have 33 Top Stories. I have also placed Honorable Mention in one contest and Runner-Up (before the current prize structure) in four. I have even received $75.98 from 24 tips, most of which have been from unofficial challenges. So, one might think that I am a fair success on Vocal. However, one metric proves that that is not the case: my overall reads.

How to write like Pulp Fiction
Watched Pulp Fiction recently and it struck me how well the story was scripted and, I think, provides an object lesson in how to develop story through dialogue and character. This is not a movie crit, and I am not a Tarantino groupie, but I would suggest all fiction writers watch the film (at least twice) and learn from the technique and structure of the story, how it is constructed and how the story progresses from one dramatic scene to another. Or read the script, which was written by Quentin Tarantino and Roger Avery. Whether you are a Tarantino fan or not, you can learn some important lessons from the way this film was scripted.

The Pitfalls of ''First Drafts''
Let me talk about my craft in an unbridled fashion, sharing my personal method and comparing it to common sense; I've never understood the point of a first draft, a second draft, a seventeenth draft, a final draft. It seems absurd to me.

What Makes Bhutan Different From Every Other Destination I've Visited. AI-Generated.
Some destinations impress you with famous landmarks, while others leave a lasting impression through their culture and people. Bhutan belongs to the second category. Nestled in the eastern Himalayas, this small kingdom offers an experience that feels increasingly rare in today's fast-paced world.

A Writer's Notebook
Everyone knows that every great story starts with a single idea. However, the problem is that ideas rarely arrive at the exact time when weβre sitting at our desks and ready to write. They tend to appear while weβre driving to work, standing in line at the grocery store, watching a movie, or trying to fall asleep. If we donβt capture them in the moment, then they might be gone forever unless you can remember them.

Why Are We Here? (On Vocal)
Introduction If, like me. you have been here a few years, you were probably drawn by the huge Vocal Challenge prizes. I soon learned that was as likely as a lottery win for me. Many of my friends have won and placed so they have been properly rewarded.
