A Liminal Writer; An Ideas-Slut
Where to put this one? We don't know which shelf to Holz should sit on, because Holz never knew, either. Her work being awkward to place is apt, because she was an awkward person. Another Mask for the Dead. Runner-Up in The Posthumous Author Challenge.
Dichotomy or duality. Maybe they're just fancy words for indecisiveness and destabilisation. Just as subversion and iconoclasm are fancy words for an unsettled mind that wouldn't stick to one lane. A Temporary Cure for Distance
She had always been someone who knew how to be alone. . Even before Norway, even before the long flights and colder air and streets where she didn’t yet know how to belong, solitude had been her old companion. Not always kind, not always chosen, but familiar. It had sat beside her through earlier versions of her life like a quiet passenger who never quite left the seat.
