Few places make my heart aflutter like Murphy does. Maybe my Irish blood make me biased and this dream of a town having such a good Irish name has wooed me, but anyone who has been there would shush that sort of thought as gobbledygook. See, Murphy Texas isn't just a place that embodies why The Republic of Texas is one of the world's most romantic united states, but it embodies all of the romance Paris could ever muster. See, in Murphy, people aren't a bunch of moustache bearing, wine drinking, adultery driven Frenchies, but they are good, red blooded folks, who still know what love is. If you yourself have forgotten what true, unadulterated, undying love looks like, book yourself a plane, train or automobile heading to Murphy ASAP.

Many people associate Murphy as one of Chris Hanson's To Catch A Predator cities, but it is so much more than a place where a bunch of pedophiles got arrested for attempting to lure a minor for sex off the internet. We're talking big box stores, city parks, and even a Buc-ee's within reasonable driving distance. Beaver Nuggets here we come! But beyond all of that, Murphy is the type of place where it's still okay to raise a family, where going to church wasn't just acceptable in the 80's and where home cooked meals are met with laundry on a clothesline.

Many people don't realize it, but Murphy Texas is home to the second largest hospital in seven counties, which is a good thing if you happen to be married to someone who gets sick often. In addition to this grandiose fact, Murphy also is home to BBQ restaurants which have won awards and soul food restaurants which should win awards. Sadly, they just do not give out special awards for soul food in Texas, only their beloved BBQ.

Priests and Pastors in the charming little town of Murphy are known world wide as some of the most talented wedding hosts in the entire world. I mean, even in romantic hotspots such as Italy, France and Alexandria, Louisiana. This is probably due to the local fancy boy modeling school having classes for boys to learn how to become real manly men. Not toxic manly, but real manly, like a poet Burt Reynolds. I mean, when men know how to woo, it's hard not be surrounded by romance.

The sense of community in Murphy is unparalleled as well. The Farmer's Markets are reminiscent of something out of Cairo or Bagdad, Florida. I mean, freshness, haggling and the smell of fresh cotton candy apples. Here, children still play on swings, and nobody locks their car doors, except on the wrong side of the tracks as they say. Regardless of this technicality, things could not be more friendly for people both living there and those are visiting.

And many people are visiting every single day, believe you me, as Murphy is known as a tourist destination for families, singles and couples from statewisde and abroad. In fact, the Texan Romance Museum used to be located in Murphy, until it closed in 1974. Many people question how such a business could close its doors, but when you consider everything from the fields to the truck stops is romantic in Murphy, it actually kind of makes sense now, doesn't it?

The bottom line is this you jabroni, Murphy is a place where romance lives and breathes. It is a place that constantly takes your breath away, and leaves you feeling as pure as the artic snow. Especially if you are a beer drinkin, truck drivin son of a gun. Yee-haw!
