To Be Continued, continued
Hold your horses if, like me, you have horses, because the next decades all seem now, in retrospect, to fall together in a blur, a big, long, sometimes messy, but always heartening, blur.
Marie McGrath DavisPublished 2 years ago in WanderAutumn Hiking: Tips for a Fantastic Fall Hike
To me, summer is not hiking weather. Here in the Southeast, summer brings humidity, crowds, and mosquitos. The last thing I want to do with some precious time away is head off to a crowded trail, carry lots of water, and have to leave my adventure pup at home, so she doesn’t get too hot. In the summer, I better have air conditioning or cold water nearby because I do not do well in the heat. With the seasons starting to change, though, I’m excited to talk about the best time of year.

Flashback
FLASHBACK… You know how Facebook throws up in your face, memories of what you said and did last year? Well, this morning the past 370 days flashed before me. I reminisced for a Mississippi minute but sanely snapped back into Atlanta mode to check the driveway for the 15th time for the promised first snow of 2022.

Diego Black Car Service SanPublished 2 years ago in WanderWhat's stopping progress in Africa!
I can’t speak for every country or community in Africa and obviously my perspective isn’t a general one, I’m going to give my point of view to what might be the biggest obstacles to progress. Africa is infamous for poverty and the lowest development in the world, we’ve been here for as long as everybody else and yet it seems we can’t match the pace of others, why is that? There aren’t many things that all countries in Africa share in common other than poverty, even the most developed countries in Africa still have a high level of poverty. How is that possible that so many countries on the same continent share the same fate? How come the level of poverty in Africa is persistently high even in a modern society where we are making rockets to go to the moon. Is it that we don’t have resources in Africa? or maybe we just don’t know how to make use of them? How come people are dying of hunger even in countries with the most food on planet earth.

Samantha MarkasPublished 2 years ago in WanderMurphy, Texas: One of America's Most Romantic Getaways
Few places make my heart aflutter like Murphy does. Maybe my Irish blood make me biased and this dream of a town having such a good Irish name has wooed me, but anyone who has been there would shush that sort of thought as gobbledygook. See, Murphy Texas isn't just a place that embodies why The Republic of Texas is one of the world's most romantic united states, but it embodies all of the romance Paris could ever muster. See, in Murphy, people aren't a bunch of moustache bearing, wine drinking, adultery driven Frenchies, but they are good, red blooded folks, who still know what love is. If you yourself have forgotten what true, unadulterated, undying love looks like, book yourself a plane, train or automobile heading to Murphy ASAP.
Aubrey KatePublished 2 years ago in WanderCold Weather Hiking
“There is no bad weather, only inappropriate clothing.” ~Sir Ranulph Fiennes With a few exceptions, I believe in that quote. I hike a lot. I hike year-round. If the weather is really bad and I can find somebody to go with me, I’ll still head out. I enjoy hiking in the rain and snow, actually. Most of the time, bad situations are totally preventable, and I’ll touch on what to do if something happens here too. The key is preparation.
