Singapore is a melting pot of cultures, age-old traditions, stunning modern-day marvels and iconic regions to explore that truly encapsulate the value of a vacation. Underpinned by an impressive and easy-to-navigate public transportation system, Singapore is one of the finest tourist hotspots in Southeast Asia that would warrant more than one visit. For the benefit of your future travel plans, given below is a detailed guide on how to make it work for a period of 4 days within the allures of the Lion City.

Day 1

For starters, be wise with how you plan your travels in Singapore and never attempt to cover more than what you could handle in a day. Kick things off within Kampong Glam which is famed for housing a gamut of cultural attractions and edifices. The ever-popular golden dome of Sultan Mosque will offer a sublime backdrop to pose against while Arab Street’s numerous shops and boutiques would be ideal havens to pick out the odd perfume and purchase some fancy attire. Next up is Little India which is renowned for showcasing diverse and distinct vibes that will have you moving through local markets selling colourful fabrics and settling down at eat-in restaurants where the very best of Indian cuisine might be sampled. For the high-end shopper, Orchard Road’s shopping malls cannot be ignored and for the world’s most sought-after brands, do step inside ION Orchard. On the other hand, Plaza Singapura will complement those whims and fancies associated with fashion, food and leisure which are spread throughout its 7 floors.

Day 2

Begin your second day’s escapades by calling by the refreshing scenes enveloping the oldest garden space in the country - the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Established during the 19th century, this UNESCO World Heritage Site contains a fabulous amount of appeal that will easily take your mind off the bustle of the city. Showcasing a rainforest climate, these Gardens house a vast array of fauna, flora and wildlife to behold but to the keen explorer, be sure to have checked out the world’s largest display of orchids at the National Orchid Garden before you decide to move on to what lies ahead. To the culture buff, a visit to the acclaimed National Museum of Singapore is a must for the edifice successfully chronicles the early years of the nation leading up to its present times across a vast volume of temporary and permanent exhibits. Should all this travelling have worked up an appetite in you, then waste no time in heading to the closest outlet of Long Beach Seafood where temptations in the likes of chilli crab and black pepper crab can be sampled to your heart’s content.

Day 3

Do reserve the penultimate day of your holiday for Sentosa Island which has a reputation for enticing and enthralling those of all ages. Found some 15.5 km away from a Singapore boutique hotel the likes of Venue Hotel SG, Sentosa Island holds an abundance of leisure escapes that will have you in awe from start to end. Kick things off by visiting Universal Studios which at the time of writing is the first of its kind in Asia that brings together a lengthy list of rides that have been modelled on some of Hollywood’s best plots and movie scripts. Aside from these, one can ride a rollercoaster, meet the Minions and engage in some retail therapy at any of the stores from where you can pick out your favourite movie merchandise. Thereafter, dive headfirst into the wonderful world of marine creatures at none other than S.E.A. Aquarium. Affording opportunities to witness Sharks, Dolphins and even Poison Arrow Frogs that are among the marine mammals that live here which currently number over 1,000, the Aquarium also provides ease of access to swim with Hammerhead Sharks as part of its Shark Encounter experience.

Day 4

Devote time for Marina Bay before you head off and to begin with, factor in the possibility of calling by one of Singapore’s famed landmarks which is the Merlion Statue. Easily distinguished by the water that spews from its mouth, this attraction will provide good backdrops to snap up more than a fair share of pictures. Finally, beeline in the direction of the Singapore Flyer where you can feast your eyes on 360-degree vistas of Singapore that also pan out across some sections of Malaysia and Indonesia.
