Well away from the glorious and sublime coastal belt of Queensland’s Gold Coast is Mount Tamborine; a plateau topped peak that would warrant more than a casual glance and visit whenever one is contemplating calling by this part of Australia. For the nature-savvy traveller and adventure seeker, the stunning environs of Mount Tamborine will prove to be well worth one’s time and energy. Given below is an outline of how one could best explore the mountain and its immediate vicinity.

Should mountain streams, nature walks, fine wines and local festivals be to your liking, then travelling to Mount Tamborine would surely hold you in good stead. Filled with an abundance of outdoor leisure activities to while away the hours, a visit to the area referred to as Mount Tamborine will have travellers like yourself learning of the ways of the locals that act as the perfect prelude to what lies ahead. Thus, whether you wish to sample mouthwatering cuisine at one of the town’s cafés before chartering a course for the nearest waterfall, time at Mount Tamborine affords many an avenue by which one might meander along taking in the beauty and pageantry that feature prominently here.

Tamborine National Park Palm Grove Section

Get up close and personal with a myriad of floral species that can be found in South East Queensland when strolling through the Palm Grove Section of Tamborine National Park. Be it Piccabeen palms, ghost gums, sub-tropical fig trees to hoop pines; the Parks’ Palm Grove Section is where many a species can be caught sight of and learnt of in great detail as part of spending time on any of the hiking trails that comprise this section of what is the State’s 1st national park. Further, whilst on the 1.6 miles long Palm Grove Circuit Track that can be made part of your journey to connect with the Park’s Jenyns Circuit where an equally amazing collection of flora is on display, one may also be awed by vistas of Gold Coast’s towering skyscrapers that would fall into focus. In terms of advice, it would be better to pack extra layers of clothing owing to the fact that the temperature is far cooler beneath the rainforest canopy. Also, though this part of the Park is not the most demanding, it is still preferable to be seen sporting a sturdy pair of walking shoes coupled with plenty of drinking water to last you through the journey.

Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk

If you’ve dreamed of walking amidst breathtaking treetops and surrounding your senses with the priceless gifts that Mother Nature has bestowed, then look no further than the Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk. The Skywalk finds refuge within the lush jungles that make up Mount Tamborine and interestingly, follows the path of Cedar Creek in providing nature lovers with a valuable lesson on the biodiversity of rainforest in more ways than one. Commence your trip from the forest floor en route to the numerous vantage points above that look out over the treetops and beyond. Consider spending some time at the Rainforest Eco Gallery where insights on Aboriginal history together with informative displays will be yours to savour that will certainly add another layer of enjoyment to your trip. Having scratched at the surface of what the Skywalk boasts of, do make your way along the Skywalk Bridge that will soon have you ascending in the direction of the canopy. You will then see yourself moving through tropical plant life where opportunities to spot kookaburras, nectar birds and platypuses down below in the Creek’s rock pools will all but complete a riveting encounter with these pleasing outdoors. Before ending your time here, be sure to visit the cantilever bridge that will take you to a viewing platform from where a bird’s eye view of the canopy and the rainforest as a whole may be captured and admired at the same time. Also, one would need sufficient accommodation from where commuting to this attraction will be made easier.
