Hua Hin, nestled along the Gulf of Thailand, has long been the go-to spot for those seeking a slice of coastal paradise. By day, its sandy beaches and lush landscapes captivate, but when the sun dips, Hua Hin reveals a vibrant nocturnal side, ready to be explored. Here's your guide to making the most of Hua Hin at night.

Hua Hin Night Market

Hua Hin's night market is the place to be in the evening. It's full of different stalls selling all sorts of things, like cool souvenirs and handmade crafts. But the best part is the delicious food.

Delight your senses with open-sided vans serving up tantalising cocktails or dive into the seafood stalls offering fresh catches cooked to perfection. A simple stroll, taking in the lively ambience, is entertainment in itself.

Soi Bintabaht

Dubbed Hua Hin's nightlife hub, Soi Bintabaht, along with the nearby Poolsuk Road, is lined with lively beer bars. If a game of pool or catching up on the latest football match is your idea of a good time, you're in the right place.

Cicada Night Market

Venture a tad further to Cha-am and you'll stumble upon the Cicada Market, a haven for art lovers and creative souls. This isn't just another market; it's a celebration of artistry and self-expression. Browse handcrafted gems, lose yourself in the onsite art gallery, or simply soak in the good vibes with live tunes in the background.

Cha-am’s Nightlife

If you fancy a change of scenery from Hua Hin, this neighbouring town offers a more subdued but equally enjoyable nightlife. Soi Bus Stop, leading up to Narathip Road, is dotted with quaint beer bars and karaoke pubs where you can sing your heart out.

Accommodation

Hua Hin is a popular tourist destination, so as you would expect, there are plenty of accommodation choices. A guesthouse is probably the best option if you have to stick to a budget, but staying at a centrally located hotel in Hua Hin will save you a lot of money and time. When it comes to hotels and resorts, you have an array of choices, including Anantara Hua Hin Resort.

Getting to Hua Hin

There are a few ways to get from Bangkok to Hua Hin. Most people tend to go by train, bus, or just hire a car. The train is a bit of a trek, taking at least four hours from Bangkok's main station, but you do get to see some amazing views. Ticket prices vary, but a second-class ticket starts at around 400 baht, and if you're watching your money, you can get a third-class one for around 40 baht.

The bus is usually quicker, taking about three to five hours, but it can be longer if there’s bad traffic. The good news is it's inexpensive. It’s handy too as you can hop on one straight from Suvarnabhumi International Airport.

If you're already in the heart of Bangkok, you can grab a bus from the Southern Bus Terminal.

Getting Around

If you're looking to truly immerse yourself in Hua Hin's charm, nothing beats lacing up your trainers and exploring on foot. Walking not only keeps you fit but also gives you the freedom to stop on a whim, whether it's a street food stall that beckons with tantalising aromas or a pop-up market showcasing local handicrafts.

For those attractions that seem a bit too far, why not get a taste of local transport? Tuk-tuks are always a fun option, but the songthaews are the real deal in Hua Hin. While they follow specific routes, they don't have set stops. So, all you need to do is give them a friendly wave, and you're on your way!

If the tropical heat gets a tad too much, or if you're simply in the mood for a bit of modern comfort, there's always a taxi.
