Beginner Backpacker
The world is yours for the taking. Where will you backpack to next?
Bike-packing
Bike-packing... sounds pretty miserable, right? I mean, biking hurts your legs more than walking. Why would I want to load up a bike and hit the road for miles of unbearable leg pain? If you have the chance to overlook the leg pain, you will be in for one of the the best rides of your life and a new hobby that will take over your every thought. Feeling alone in the wilderness on two wheels can be a scary thought. My hopes with this post is to help the beginner to get started mountain biking long distances. Below is a guide to the best form of exploration.
Best Backpacking Tents to Bring on Your Next Trip
My son Jarret and I do a lot of camping so that we can bond as father and son, and, hopefully, as men and even human beings. Since I prioritize my relationship with my son, it's important that I own one of the best backpacking tents.

I am your average hiker-backpacker. I don't know why it is so appealing to me to live out of a tent and have to walk everywhere — walk up and down the trials to get a view of the world, that I can not see sitting at my desk from work. It just seems like living like a hobo for a few days is a reset button on my soul. Working every day where I have to reason with my boss to give me time off to go to a family member's funeral and many other issues like that just completely wears my soul thin.

5 Travel Tips to Enhance Your Travel Experience
Traveling to another place is always a great opportunity. It gives you the chance to relax, have some fun, and learn something new. Personally, I have been blessed with the opportunity to travel to eight different countries (Spain, Italy, France, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Canada, USA). To say it simply, I've gotten to travel A LOT. Through my experience, I have found there are five travel tips I would give to anyone to have an amazing travel experience.

Adventurers come in all shapes and sizes, from all walks of life, with different reasonings and ambitions for their adventures. For me, I love the unknown: experiencing everything and anything I can from countries, to cultures, languages, knowledge, hobbies, treks, physicals feats, and more. I love the adrenaline, fear, and growth that is associated with it all.

Need some advice? Well, look no further. I may not have traveled the ENTIRE world, lets be realistic... but I've visited enough places to learn a thing or two about traveling. My first stop was New Zealand, then Nepal, Scotland, London and Ireland. Within a span of 5 months I learned many things and created many memories, and hopefully I can help you do the same.
What Solo Backpacking Has Taught Me
Since I was a child, I have been travelling with my parents to many different countries within South America, all pertaining to my ethnicity and the familiarity of cultures. Although I did a fair share of traveling in my earlier years, I can say that I never truly appreciated it...nor did I feel any sort of fulfillment.

1. Keweenaw Peninsula At the top of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, the Keweenaw sticks up into Lake Superior. The peninsula is characterized by mountains and cliffs, streams and waterfalls, and splendid views of Lake Superior. Along the shore of the lake, you can collect some interesting rocks, and at night, the clear air gives way to some amazing views of the stars. You will have very limited cell phone reception, but the nature should make up for it. Make your way from the Keweenaw Bay at the Southern end to the small town of Copper Harbor at the Northern tip. Enjoy the hiking and swimming and rock collecting and make sure you eat a pasty or two. Look to the Northwest on a clear day and see if you can spot the next location on the list, Isle Royale.

Do you like to travel? If you are anything like me, then that answer is yes. I have always liked to be outdoors, even as a child. Growing up, it was unlikely to find me inside, even at night. I absolutely love the natural world and its beauty. I also am living on a small income, and don't want to spend money on finding natural beauty. So I thought, "why not just check out your own backyard?" So, I did. For my anniversary this year I took my husband to Shawnee National Forest here in Illinois. More specifically, the Garden of the Gods, located in Herod, IL, which is about two hours away from me.

I have a huge passion for travel. It's something I think everyone should do to escape from the clutches of materialism and Western mentalities. To go and experience other cultures and meet some of the kindest people in the most unlikely of locations.

It feels as if it was yesterday when I was a senior in high school; it was the last opportunity for everyone to use “senioritis” as a lame excuse to procrastinate. A year and a half earlier my mother passed away. I could not put aside the thought of losing her. I didn’t know if I was just procrastinating, or if in fact I was still grieving. I felt as if I was in an empty black hole with no hope. I was losing myself.

Almost eighteen months ago, I departed for what my friends & family referred to as "The adventure of a lifetime"- I however, rejected that labelling, but only because that implied I would probably never do it again.
