Fernbank Museum of Natural History

Warriors of the Sea, a new exhibition at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History, explores the Viking Age and dispels common misconceptions about its people, customs, and influence. 140 genuine artifacts from the display demonstrate the Vikings' advancements, including their lighter ships and jewelry. Atlanta is home to many attractions and mouthwatering dining options, and cheap DTW flights from Detroit to Atlanta make it easy to visit.

Atlanta is invited to Haunted Seas by the Georgia Aquarium.

Characters, legends, and sights can be seen in Georgia Aquarium's Haunted Seas attraction. A pirate chest from the 18th century has been donated, and ghostly images of pirates and shipwrecks have started to appear all over the structure. There are themed sea lion and dolphin shows every day, as well as a newly designed atrium. On the weekends, Capt. Humboldt Squidd sets out to find the Ocean Voyager exhibit's secret treasure.

Return of the Autumn Festival on Ponce

With 125 exhibits of local and regional fine art, crafts, folk and outsider art, local food trucks, drinks, a kids' play area, and live acoustic music, the Autumn Festival on Ponce is back at Olmsted Linear Park.

Hip-Hop Celebration at Elevate Atlanta

Elevate Atlanta 2023, a display of the recording of hip-hop culture by female photographers, is on view at Gallery 72 and is available through October 28. Additionally, Stay Productive hosts an event at 529 Bar on Friday at 9 p.m. with a meeting of Atlanta hip-hop producers and special guests.

Atlanta Opening at Underground Atlanta: 50 Years of Hip-Hop Experience

The Underground Atlanta — ACVB Visitors Centre is now hosting The Atlanta 50 Years of Hip-Hop Experience, an immersive journey through Atlanta's hip-hop history that includes photography displays, original artwork, memorabilia, special events, and live music.

Open at Fernbank, Woodland Spirits

Woodland Spirits, a Halloween exhibition by artist Laura Lewis, includes specially commissioned sculptures and spectral "visitors" on Fernbank Museum pathways, inspiring mystery, exploration, and fantasy through direct engagement.

Netherworld Haunted House

Through November 11, the eerie Netherworld Haunted House will continue to frighten visitors. The Boogeyman creates a twisted realm of real-life nightmares in Primordial and Cryptid Chaos this year, where he also drains the dark energy of Cryptid Creatures imprisoned in the BOX. A new Cryptid Creature is now at the top of the food chain after the creatures fight back and defeat the Boogeyman.

At the Zoo Atlanta, goat painting is popular.

Up to October 15, the Goat Painting Wild Encounter is featured during a painting session at Zoo Atlanta. Participants pick two colors to create a one-of-a-kind piece of art that they can keep.

At Atlantic Station, buy Creator's Market products.

Over a dozen sellers sell hand-crafted goods like jewelry, home goods, soaps, and candles at Creator's Market, which is held at Atlantic Station every Sunday through December.

Pumpkin Festival

The world's largest pumpkin light show, a new pumpkin drone show, and a nighttime procession are just a few of the family-friendly attractions at Stone Mountain Park's annual Pumpkin Festival, which runs until October 29.

Children’s Museum of Atlanta

The Children's Museum of Atlanta's "Inside Out" display by Pixar teaches kids about emotions, memory, and imagination. Five main emotions—joy, sadness, anger, disgust, and fear—are the subject of the exhibition, which is based on a Disney animated film. It promotes emotional intelligence by enabling kids to recognize and comprehend these emotions and runs through January 7, 2024.

Opening night at Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse for "Dracula: The Failings of Men"

A fascinating adaptation of Bram Stoker's classic novel, "Dracula: The Failings of Men," is being presented by Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse. The performance, which is directed by Drs. Ada Van Helsing and Jack Seward, centers on the unusual events that happen when an abandoned ship crashes on London's shore and depicts the largest vampire hunt in history. The show adds a thrilling twist to the old story with its fast-paced battles, aerial dance, and larger-than-life blood effects. If you want to enjoy this kind of activity this weekend then book a Detroit to Atlanta flight and take the experience.
