While reading the early morning news in several African countries, I came upon the Namibia news. It was a post of a video that had gone viral, people were shown a man who was identified as a police officer.

The video takes place in a parking garage, where the man identified as a police officer is pulling a woman's hair. The woman is also identified as being pregnant. As he's pulling her hair, another woman comes into view of the video and she's trying to help the woman pull lose from the man's grip.

These are the words that were over the video;

UNDER INVESTIGATION … Namibian Police spokesperson deputy commissioner Kauna Shikwambi says the police are investigating a case of a Windhoek-based police reservist, Valentino Endjala, who was seen violently manhandling his allegedly pregnant girlfriend in a video that has gone viral.

In the video the woman's friend is trying her best to help the woman get freed from the man's grip. He's pulling her hair, his grabbing her clothing, at one point he's placed his arm around her neck. The video is pretty hard to watch.

I went to the comment section because I was hoping someone who had seen the video could explain why he was beating on her. But I only came onto comments blaming the two women in the video.

Men blamed her friend for trying to stop the man from grabbing her and pulling her hair.

Teresa Blom If you don't have all the facts laid out, then don't take sides, for all we know, the lady could be the excuse of a woman.

Who is the guy talkin to on the phone,.. ? If the person can't cut that call it might b someone that is involved in this story…we are so quick to judge but half of th men commenting here would have done far much worse in this situation.., us men can sometimes act out of hurt wich doesn't justify our actions but ladies also dont think before they start things how would it end..

I would blame the friend….this people could have sorted their stories, sometimes we should stay out of issues of people that have seen each other's nakedness.

Petrus Dankie Temba you blame the friend who is protecting the woman and not the man who is hurting her...you wanted them left alone so he can kill her in private?

Another man claimes "I wish I could hear the story behind all of this, the lady must have done something bad.." So here we have a man claiming that the woman was at fault for the police officer her lover to beat her. Another man even claimed that he didn't see any abuse in the video, even though the man's pulling her hair and hitting her.

"Is that assault or he was dragging her to go with him, I really don't see him hitting her."

The man pulling her hair, throwing his arm around her neck and choking her, then throwing her to the ground isn't violent enough for another man. It's disheartening that more men claimed that a pregnant women deserved this. Another man is still arguing that she was at fault, this is the world women live in today.

UPDATE: Police reservist Valentino Endjala, 26, during interrogations today claimed that his pregnant girlfriend was being 'proposed' by another man. He confronted her about it and another person interfered, leading to the assault seen in the viral video, police said. The victim has not opened a criminal case against him, and therefore Endjala has not been arrested yet. "As a police force, we take any form of violence seriously, and therefore, the investigation is currently underway," national police spokesperson Kauna Shikwambi said.
