Dec. 20

No. 18 South Florida 77, West Virginia 55

South Florida led 22-17 after the first quarter and held control the rest of the night as it improved to 9-3. Forwards Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu and Bethy Mununga both posted double-doubles for the Bulls.

Mendjiadeu scored 14 points and with 12 rebounds. Mununga had 11 rebounds and 10 points as well as six assists. She also had two steals and one block. Maria Alvarez was hot from long range for South Florida as she shot 4-4 from three on her way to 14 points.

Guard Sydni Harvey had her best shooting performance of the month. After scoring double figures in five of the first seven games of the season, she scored just seven points in her last two games. In the first three games in December, Harvey shot 7-29. Against West Virginia, Harvey shot 3-7, including 2-5 from three-point territory. Harvey scored 10 points in the win.

West Virginia was outrebounded 36-19. Esmery Martinez is usually a reliable rebounder for the Mountaineers. She entered the game averaging 8.6 rebounds per game but only collected two boards against South Florida.

Madisen Smith scored 15 points for West Virginia. She drained three of her seven attempts from three. KK Deans scored 13 points and led the Mountaineers with five assists.

Dec. 19

No. 17 Georgia Tech 62, Wake Forest 45

Georgia Tech's (9-2) defense smothered Wake Forest (10-2) as it took a 29-17 lead into the half.

Wake Forest shot 17-51 overall. The Demon Deacons also had 17 turnovers to go with just seven assists as they struggled in the road loss. Georgia Tech allowed just one Wake Forest player to score 10 points as Elise Williams shot 5-11 from the field.

The Yellow Jackets had three players in double digits. Eylia Love and Nerea Hermosa shot a combined 14-23 scoring 16 points each. Dinga Strautmane posted 12 points along with seven rebounds and four assists. Georgia Tech got another productive game from Lorela Cubaj. The senior forward had 12 rebounds, six assists, four points and three steals before fouling out.

Cubaj has grabbed at least 11 rebounds in each of her past six games. She is averaging 12.5 boards per game.

Cincinnati 87, North Carolina A&T 77 2OT

Akira Levy had one of her best collegiate games as she posted 22 points and 12 assists in Cincinnati's (7-4) double overtime victory.

After being tied 72-72 when the first overtime ended, Cincinnati outscored the visitors 15-5 in the final stanza to capture the win. Levy shot a perfect 11-11 from the free-throw line on her way to her season high in points. She is shooting 87 percent from the charity stripe after her first 11 games.

Jillian Hayes scored 18 points for Cincinnati. Reserves Arame Niang and Clarissa Craig scored 13 and 10 points respectively.

North Carolina A&T was led in scoring by Chanin Scott's 24 points. She also paced the team with eight rebounds, four assists and four steals.

Dec. 18

Iowa 69, UCF 61

Iowa's Caitlin Clark posted a double-double scoring 21 points with 11 rebounds and six assists, leading her team to a nine-point home win. Clark shot a less than stellar 5-18 from the field but she made eight of her 11 free-throws to hold off UCF.

UCF was led in scoring by reserve Tay Sanders' 20 points.

Alabama State 80, Mobile 44

Tamia Stallings came off of the bench to score 15 points and grab seven rebounds as Alabama State beat Mobile by 36 points. Dakiyah Sanders led the Hornets with four assists as she scored 14 points going a perfect 5-5 from the field, including 2-2 from three. She also shot 2-2 from the free-throw line.

Reserve Armani Smith led the team with three steals in just 11 minutes of action. She also scored five points and dished out two assists.
