Angel Reese - LSU
The Angel Reese Era at LSU has gotten off to a tremendous start. In three games she is averaging 21.3 points, 14.3 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocked shots. The 6-3 forward from Baltimore, Maryland opened her season with 31 points and 13 rebounds in a runaway win over Bellarmine. From there she has scored 33 points and snagged 30 rebounds over the next two contests, which were both wins as well. Since Reese has arrived, LSU has outscored its three opponents 343-125.
Maddy Siegrist - Villanova
After averaging 25.3 points per game last season, Siegrist has gotten off to an even better start with an average of 26.5 points in her first two appearances of the 2022-23 season. She sc0red 32 points in a 10-point victory over No. 24 Princeton. Siegrist drained three of her four three-point shots, while shooting 70.6 percent overall from the field. Siegrist is also hauling down rebounds at a high rate. She grabbed 13 rebounds in both of her first two games. Those two efforts have her 13 boards away from her 800th career rebound.
Sidney Cooks - Seton Hall
Seton Hall's Sidney Cooks played efficient and dominant basketball in two wins over Rutgers and Saint Peter's. She averaged 22.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, three steals and two blocks. On Nov. 11, against Rutgers she scored a season high 29 points, shooting 12-19, including 3-7 from beyond the three-point line. In game one, Cooks a 6-4 senior center, posted 16 points, 16 rebounds, three blocks, three steals and three assists.
Fujika Nimmo - Cal State Fullerton
After her first two games, Fujika Nimmo looks to be the top scoring option for Cal State Fullerton. The 5-8 senior guard is averaging 22.5 points per game, along with four rebounds and three assists after the first two games. In the first game she scored 26 points in an overtime contest against Santa Clara. Nimmo, who only made 10 threes in all of last season, shot 4-8 from long range. She followed that with 19 points in a win over San Jose State. Nimmo missed her one attempt from three in that contest but found other ways to score including a 9-11 showing from the free-throw line.
Jazmin Harris - North Carolina A&T
Jazmine Harris returned to compete in her fifth collegiate season. After three seasons at Charlotte she debuted at North Carolina A&T last season averaging 13 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.2 blocked shots. In her first two games this season she is averaging 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4.5 blocks per game. Harris opened the season against Duke posting 18 points with nine rebounds and two rejections. She followed that with 16 points, 15 rebounds and seven blocked shots in 25 minutes against St. Andrews University, which helped to result in a 102-29 win.
Jeanae Terry - Purdue
A 5-11 senior from Detroit, Jeanae Terry used the first week of the season to put the NCAA on notice about her point guard skills. Terry led Purdue to a season opening win over Marshall when she dished out 10 assists, with 10 rebounds. She also had five points and two steals in the home victory. In game two against Murray State, she was one point shy of a triple-double scoring nine points, with 10 rebounds and 10 assists. In that win she completed the game with zero turnovers in 29 minutes while also shooting a perfect 5-5 from the free-throw line. Terry is averaging 10 rebounds, 10 assists and seven points per game.
