A look at women's basketball talents

College basketball is in off-season mode but that doesn't mean we can't look back at the talent that made the 2021-22 season a success. Let's check out some of the women that you may or may not know but should on the hardcourt.

Nneka Obiazor - UNLV

After a freshman season at Youngstown State in 2020-21 where she averaged 15.1 points and 8.1 rebounds, Nneka Obiazor, a 5-10 forward from Eden Prairie, Minnesota, transferred to UNLV. Her numbers in 2021-22 dropped but as a reserve who started just three of 33 games, she still averaged double-digits with 11.2 points per game. Obiazor helped her team win the Mountain West Championship and qualify for the NCAA Tournament while shooting a career best 51 percent. Obiazor scored a season high 21 points shooting a near perfect 10-11 from the field in a win over Southern Utah. She scored 21 points on a second occasion when she shot 9-11 in a win over Utah State. In the quarterfinal round of the Mountain West Tournament, Obiazor posted 20 points in another win against Utah State to go along with nine rebounds, two steals and one blocked shot.

Serena Sundell - Kansas State

Serena Sundell averaged 10.6 points and 5.3 assists per game during her freshman season at Kansas State. The 6-1 guard from Maryville, Missouri dished out a season high 11 dimes against Iowa State. She had her lone double-double of the year when she scored 16 points with 10 assists, five rebounds and five steals in a win over San Diego State. Sundell's posted a season high 25 points shooting 9-11 in a victory against Abilene Christian. The young guard had another strong outing against Oklahoma when she had 24 points on 56.3 percent shooting. She also had seven assists, three rebounds and two steals with zero turnovers. In two games against Oklahoma, Sundell posted 35 points, 15 assists with no turnovers.

Amari Robinson - Clemson

A 6-0 forward from Douglasville, Georgia, Amari Robinson averaged 11 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. Robinson scored a season high of 27 points against Florida State. She shot 10-15 from the field including 2-3 from three-point land. Her second highest scoring output of the season was a 25-point game against Boston College. Robinson had three double-doubles. The first was a 17-point, 12-rebound effort against Presbyterian. The next was a 19-point, 11-rebound performance against Wake Forest and the third came against Duke when she scored 10 points and hauled down 12 rebounds. Clemson averaged 10.7 points per game as a freshman during the 2019-20 season before her scoring average dipped the next season to 8.8 points per game. Last season saw her scoring average rise to a career high bringing her career clip to 10.2 points per game over three seasons and 96 games

Jaden Wrightsell - High Point

After four seasons at Tennessee State, Jaden Wrightsell had a productive season at High Point to wrap-up her collegiate career. A 5-10 guard from Omaha, Nebraska, Wrightsell averaged a career best 11.2 points per game, while pulling down 5.4 rebounds per game. Over her five-year career, Wrightsell scored 1,073 points, collected 779 rebounds and snatched 185 steals. Wrightsell averaged 13.8 points per game, scoring at least 12 points in five of her first six contests. She posted her first of two double-doubles in her sixth game of the season when she scored 15 points with 12 rebounds in a win against King College. Her second double-double was against UNC Asheville in a late season win where she posted 21 points and 14 rebounds. Wrightsell got hot from three-point land making four of her six attempts from long range in a win over North Carolina A&T, where she scored 22 points.
