Amazing. We are already just over a full month into the 2024 Canadian Football League season, and we have some new intriguing storylines this year. Fittingly, let's start with the British Columbia Lions, who ended Week 5 in Hamilton against the lowly, lowly Tiger-Cats. Regarding the game, there was not much to tell. It was over when it started. The Lions were mauling Hamilton very easily, and in the end, BC won 44-28 over the TiCats.

The AFC South, in recent years, has been quite...well...interesting. The last two seasons have ended with the division's games being quite vital, and both times, it was Houston vs Indy in one game, while Jacksonville faced Tennessee in another. In 2022, it was only Jacksonville and Tennessee that was the important game, as that game decided the AFC South. In 2023, both games were very vital, as three of the teams were looking to get into the playoffs.

CFL Week 4 Recap: Duds
It has been a trying few months for sports fans in the city of Winnipeg. First off, the Winnipeg Jets were blasted in the opening round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, though their superstar goalie, Connor Hellebuyck, won his second Vezina Trophy at this year's NHL Awards. And then there's the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. They are not off to a great start to the 2024 season. They are winless after three games, and they were looking to get Win #1 on a Saturday evening in Calgary. The West Division battle saw the Bombers down by a touchdown very late, but they managed to tie it up with just over 30 seconds left.

The Copa América, the oldest international football competition in the world, begins play in Atlanta on 21st June. Established in 1916, the competition is typically held every four years for countries in South America, with visitors from other continents on occasion. As part of the new strategic collaboration between Concacaf and Conmebol , the United States is hosting the 2024 edition, which brings together both North and South America. The tournament included sixteen teams – ten from CONMEBOL and six from CONCACAF. All ten CONMEBOL national teams were eligible to enter.

CFL Week 2 Recap: Trouble in Winnipeg?
Winnipeg has always been an interesting pro sports city. It's located smack dab in the middle of the country, it's basically Canada's equivalent of Chicago. Much like Chicago and St. Louis, Winnipeg's geographical sports alignment is quite fluid. When I started watching the CFL, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers were in the East Division because there were eight teams in the league at the time. Once the Ottawa Redblacks debuted, the Bombers moved to the West Division, because there were (once again) three Ontario franchises in the league.
