Double champ Valentina?
Very recently I published an article discussing the future of the UFC Women's Featherweight division now that Amanda has dropped her Bantamweight belt to Julianna Pena. While writing said article, I very briefly talked about their rematch. Then; Valentina's rematch against Amanda then came to mind. This was/is a very controversial victory for Amanda. We'll never see the trilogy though, but that's fine. However, let's say Amanda loses the rematch against Pena, doesn't take the rematch at all, or decides to wait for the rematch for some tune up fights first. What if Valentia steps up and wants Pena's Bantamweight belt?

On October 6, 2021, it was announced that All Elite Wrestling's flagship series, Dynamite, would move from TNT to TBS, doing so to make way for TNT's NHL coverage. AEW already began the process by airing on Saturdays for the first few weeks; allowing TNT to begin their NHL relationship with doubleheaders on Wednesdays. Afterwards, Dynamite returned to Wednesdays, airing live coast-to-coast for the rest of the year, followed by a single Wednesday Night Hockey game at 10PM EST/7PM PST.

At the time of publishing this article, it has only been a few days since Julianna Pena's crazy upset victory over Amanda Nunes for her Bantamweight title at UFC 269, on 12/11/2021. Which got me thinking, sure Amanda and Pena are definitely going to run it back for an immediate rematch. They absolutely have to and Pena immediately offered a rematch, but as it stands we're waiting on Amanda's word for a rematch. Let's say it doesn't happen though for whatever weird reason. What about Amanda's Featherweight belt, what is she and the UFC going to do with that belt?

It’s been nearly 48 hours since the culmination of the end of the year spectacle that was UFC 269. From the emergence of new contenders, to grizzled vets showing us they still had some left in the tank, as well as one of the greatest upsets in UFC history, 269 delivered that chaotic pageantry we have all come to know and love. There was a lot to digest. From the prelims to the main card, almost all the fights had a competitive allure about them. It was as if each individual knew the ramifications that came from performing on the last big event of the year. With that said, lets breakdown some of the key moments from this weekend’s event as well as what may come next for the fighters involved.
Benjamin ReesePublished 2 years ago in UnbalancedA Look Back: Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio's 2005 Feud
Until recently, the wrestling related stories I've written here on Vocal solely centered on women's wrestling. Originally, this story was going to be the one that broke my trend, and I'll explain why it wasn't later on. I'll just open with this: one of the best feuds I watched in the last near 20 years was the 2005 angle involving Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio. I've watched every bit of this feud so many times; so much that I can pretty much describe it all, bit by bit. 2005 was a wild year in WWE, without question. I remember that WWE filled a void for me that was left by the absence of the NHL, as a lockout canceled the entire 2004-05 season, so stories like this ended up making up for that missing piece. Without further ado, the players.

One of the most legendary and memorable moments in WWE's history happened just 20 years ago: the crowning of the first-ever Undisputed Champion. It was on December 9, 2001 that the then-named World Wrestling Federation held the first Vengeance pay-per-view event, which served as the spotlight for the aftermath of a very heated Survivor Series event. So what led to this momentous event? As "Stone Cold" Steve Austin would say, "Here's the bottom line":
Clyde E. DawkinsPublished 2 years ago in UnbalancedIs MMA going too mainstream?
Back in 1985 in Japan's Shooto organization was started and essentially started as a form of wrestling. As popularity in the sport grew a company named UFC started their own promotion back on November 12, 1993 which was UFC 1. This promotion started as individuals with different fighting styles being matched up against each other and battling it out until a knockout or submission. The Match ups were not always fair and did not always seem to be evenly matched. Match making and other structural house keeping items came later as the promotion gain traction and started to grow. I bring up the promotion growing and want to fast forward to present day. There are SEVERAL different MMA promotions available to fighters and the public in forms of entertainment. Now which one do I chose to follow?

Psicosis’ music begins, he’s walking down the ramp, he’s wearing a leather jacket with an ‘EC F’N W’ t-shirt underneath instead of his usual cape. Beneath the jacket and shirt he is wearing his traditional getup, a full body suit, lucha style, and his lucha mask complete with bull horns and a long flowing brown mane—I’ve never been certain if that was his real hair... His suit is primarily white tonight with orange and black design, black boots.

I am a diehard fan of women's wrestling and hockey, and a question I often ask myself is, "Which do I love more?" To this day, I still haven't answered that definitively. That's how much I adore women's wrestling. All I ask for is for women's wrestling to be put in the biggest spotlight possible, because, as I've said for many years now, women are the true stars of wrestling. And as a diehard fan, I will always treasure the evening of December 6, 2004, as that night's edition of WWE's Monday Night Raw saw Trish Stratus and Lita compete in the main event.

As 2021 comes to a close, the combat sports world remains wide open and full of opportunity. This weekend of December 3rd and 4th of 2021 kicks off the final month of the combative year and it is a certified sleeper! From Bellator 272 between Bantamweight champ Sergio Pettis and RIZIN champ Kyoji Horiguchi, to UFC Fight Night Aldo vs. Font, as well as the return of Devin Haney against a game JoJo Diaz, this weekend should not be under any fight fans radar by any means. Let’s dive into each one of the events and breakdown exactly why I believe spectacle will deliver the goods.
Benjamin ReesePublished 2 years ago in UnbalancedCactus Jack vs. Big Van Vader
The match starts off with Vader entering the ring—traditional Vader attire, a mainly black one-piece wrestling getup, full-leg, red on the side. He’s wearing his usual mask that looks halfway badass and halfway like he’s got a pair of leather panties on his head. One word: Awesome. He struts around the ring like the badass he is. His theme music plays. He glares at the crowd like he could crush them all if he wished, and he probably could, the dude is huge…
Jack ReyPublished 2 years ago in UnbalancedIs Serena Deeb Destined to Become Champion?
I have been a fan of Serena Deeb for over a decade now. I still remember her days in Ohio Valley Wrestling, which led her to WWE's main roster, where she served as the lone female member of the Straight Edge Society. Sadly, I also remember her long injury hiatus in 2011, but Serena returned with a vengeance, and she is now killing it in All Elite Wrestling.
