13 Issues I Had With 13 Reasons Why
13 Reasons Why is being revered by many fans for its graphic, no holds barred depictions of bullying, abuse, and suicide. While the show does a good job of presenting the audience with an array of problems that a teenage girl would face, it also has some pretty serious grips. Here are 13 of them:

The vast majority of think pieces I’ve seen about ‘DAMN.’ are titled and speak about Kendrick’s “spirituality.” I understand why they call it that.

It was an unexpected, satisfying twist that upset the shows status quo and sent it 3 years into the future. While Michael died of a heart failure, the show continues to bring up his character in various ways.

On May 18 Bungie debuted its sequel to its successful, popular title Destiny in the form of Destiny 2. Being a major Destiny fan and with it the game I have spent the most time on since my Call of Duty days, I was extremely excited to see what they had in store for us. *SPOILERS FOLLOW, OBVIOUSLY. Nearly every comic book movie these days has some sort of ancient/cosmic being trying to destroy the world/universe. Wonder Woman is no different, as it presents the god of war, Ares, as its villain who wants to end humanity. There’s a simple reason for this: these movies represent our real-life, current sociopolitical climate. There is a constant fear of the world ending due to forces seemingly completely out of our control.

The Handmaid’s Tale suffers from one glaring issue, which is the one everyone seems to be talking about — its lack of intersectionality. Yes, it is important to cast POC, non-cis, and non-hetero actors. But you have to actually use them. If The Handmaid’s Tale’s excuse is that it’s “post-racial,” et al, pardon my French, but that’s utter bull.

There’s been a lot of hoopla and outrage surrounding Destiny 2 post E3. The focus has particularly been on the decision making by Bungie, the developer of Destiny and Destiny 2, regarding this game. (Note, I’m not going to discuss why some people are calling the game “Destiny 1.5”)
