Psicosis’ music begins, he’s walking down the ramp, he’s wearing a leather jacket with an ‘EC F’N W’ t-shirt underneath instead of his usual cape. Beneath the jacket and shirt he is wearing his traditional getup, a full body suit, lucha style, and his lucha mask complete with bull horns and a long flowing brown mane—I’ve never been certain if that was his real hair... His suit is primarily white tonight with orange and black design, black boots.

Psicosis pumps his fist—getting the fans riled up... He flashes his ECW shirt before sliding under the bottom rope. He walks to the corner, mounts the second rope and raises both hands in the air. He drops down from the corner, walks to another and does the same thing before walking to the center and hopping around—warming his muscles for the match ahead…

As Psicosis continues to strut around and loosen his limbs, Rey Mysterio’s entrance music plays. As it begins, Psicosis walks to the corner closest the entrance and mounts the second rope, staring down the young Mysterio as he walks to the ring…

Rey Mysterio Jr. ain’t phased, he struts to the ring with all the confidence he should have considering his vast talent and young age. He is wearing a large poncho as entrance attire. On one side the poncho reads ‘EC F’N W,’ the other side reads ‘AAA’ which is a lucha libre establishment down in Mexico. Beneath the poncho, and sharing the same color as his mask with its usual design, is a pair of black and gold wrestling tights, black being the primary color and gold accenting the leggings and mask…

Rey Mysterio isn’t going to let Psicosis stare him down, oh no—these guys are long time rivals… There is too much pride, too much history here… Mysterio climbs the apron and then proceeds to mount the ropes from the outside on the same corner in which Psicosis stands. The two get up in each other’s faces, chest to chest, there’s no love lost between these two… Psicosis jumps down from the ropes and as he does so, he gives Mysterio a stiff ‘Up yours!’ motion with his arms…

Mysterio hops up to the top rope and then down to the mat. Both men are in the ring. Mysterio never takes his eyes off his opponent as he raises both arms in the air. The crowd cheers for the young talent from San Diego…

Rey takes off his poncho as the two men stare each other down. This is followed by Psicosis taking off his leather jacket and the ECW t-shirt beneath. The ring announcer begins his spiel…

“En Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, la casa de la luche libre mas extrema en el mundo… Ladies and gentlemen… From Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the home of the most extreme wrestling in the world… LUCHADOR! Esta es una lucha de muerte Mexicana… A Mexican death-match… The rules are simple… If a wrestler is pinned or forced to submit, he will have a ten count to answer the bell, if he cannot do so, he surrenders the match—his opponent is declared the winner…

“En esta esquina… El Millionairio de Tijuana… The Millionaire from Tijuana… He weighs in at 198 pounds… PSICOSIS!” The crowd cheers as Psicosis taunts his opponent before the referee walks over to pat the announced down…

“Ladies and gentleman… En la esquina contraria… His opponent across the ring… El Chico Technico de San Diego… He is the technical kid from San Diego… Tiene vente anos verdad… He is twenty years old… Setenta y ocho kilos… 138 pounds… El Super Super Super Nino—REY MYSTERIO JR.!”

Rey Mysterio flips off Psicosis as the announcer drags out the last part of his name. The referee walks over and pats Mysterio down… The crowd is chanting “ECW! ECW! ECW!” Psicosis doesn’t even wait for the bell to sound before he charges at his rival… This match is underway! He’s going for a flying missile kick to Mysterio’s chest!

Mysterio far too quick, he darts to the right and Psicosis flies into the corner, coming to a crash and rolling backwards onto the mat. Rey circles around the ring as his opponent tries to rise…

Tired of waiting, Mysterio pulls Psicosis up by his mane before attempting to irish whip the much larger man to the ropes—Psicosis has the weight advantage, he overpowers Rey, sends the technical kid to the ropes. Mysterio off the ropes…

Psicosis goes down to scoop Mysterio but fails... The young kid from San Diego leaps, scissors the Millionaire’s head and takes him over with a hurricanrana! Psicosis to the mat… Mysterio heads to the ropes, gets a running start at his opponent…

Psicosis lifts Rey, tosses him over the top rope—Mysterio lands on his feet on the apron though! Psicosis off the far ropes, going for another flying kick!

Another miss—Mysterio stepping to the side just in time… Psicosis is bound back and rolls onto the mat, Mysterio heads to the corner and mounts the top rope…

What is he going for here?!

Mysterio front flips off the top rope, again catching Psicosis in a head scissor, and again the Super Nino takes his opponent to the mat. He ain’t done this time though… Mysterio grabs Psicosis’ legs… It’s some kind of hurricanrana into a roll-up? The ref slides in for the count…

1… 2… 3…

Mysterio looks at the ref—was it a three count? It was, the ref nods. Psicosis is quick to his feet and holds up two fingers to the ref, singling it was only a two count. The ref shakes his head—Psicosis is pissed. The announcer begins counting down from ten…

Psicosis stands in the corner, gets ready for the match to get back underway. Mysterio never takes his eyes from his opponent and the ten count ends…

Psicosis off the ropes… Mysterio drops to the mat… Psicosis leaps over Mysterio, hits the opposite ropes and heads toward his opponent… El Super Nino is ready, he steps to the side and kicks the masked man from Tijuana’s legs out from under him. Psicosis goes flying into the ropes and rolls onto his stomach…

Mysterio heads to the ropes…

Psicosis is ready, he lifts Mysterio over the top rope—he thinks he’s got him this time—he taunts with his bull horns hand gesture. Little does he know Mysterio is on the apron, wasn’t sent to the floor below…

Psicosis stares Mysterio down before walking over and giving him a heavy chop to the chest… Looks like that one hurt… Psicosis isn’t done yet; he sets Mysterio up for the vertical suplex over the top rope. Nope! Mysterio is too spry and agile; he twists around and lands on his feet behind his opponent before heading to the far ropes…

Mysterio off the ropes, he’s in the air, he’s got Psicosis… Hurricanrana over the top ropes and to the outside! Psicosis is on the floor, Mysterio looks down at his opponent, deciding what punishment he’s going to dish out next…

He heads to the barricade. The fans back up… What is he planning to do here? Mysterio pulls the guardrail closer to the ring apron and his opponent. Psicosis is on his feet; Mysterio tries to send the larger man into the steel railing… Again Psicosis overpowers his opponent and it is instead Mysterio who is sent to the rail…

What’s Mysterio going for?! What was he going for? A failed attempt… It looked like he was trying to launch himself off the railing but to no avail, he crumbles to the cement floor… Remember folks, there ain’t no padding on that floor here in ECW… This is Extreme Championship Wrestling we’re talking about!

Psicosis reaches over the writhing Rey to grab a folding chair one of the fans abandoned. He walks away from Mysterio, still hurting on the hard floor, before throwing the steel chair at his injured opponent… It hits Rey square in the forehead…

Psicosis grabs his opponent and tosses him back into the ring. Mysterio is dazed, on all fours on the mat… Psicosis is heading up to the top turnbuckle, getting ready for a high risk maneuver… And there it is! Flying missile kick to Mysterio’s sternum. Psicosis taunts before scooping Mysterio up for a slam…

Looks like the slam was just a set up… Psicosis to the top rope… What’s he going to do now? Oh my God! Moonsault! Psicosis for the cover!

1… 2… 3…

Mysterio has ‘til the count of ten count to get up…

It looks like the young kid from San Diego might have hurt his knee when he tried to fly from the steel guardrail… He’s awfully slow to get to his feet. This could be the end of this Mexican death-match…

And Mysterio does it… Just barely… But he does it, not a half second to spare… He crouches in the corner, still nursing that knee… Psicosis isn’t going to give his rival time to recover, not a chance. Psicosis running toward Mysterio… A big drop kick! The force slams Mysterio into the corner. He sinks down to the mat…

Psicosis grabs Mysterio by the back of the head and pulls him up to his feet before lifting the much smaller man over his head… The horned one carries Mysterio over his head all the way to the corner before press-slamming his opponent onto the turnbuckle… Rey just hangs there, tries to free himself…

Psicosis to the far corner… He gets a running start… Leaping into the air he brings an axe handle down on Mysterio’s spine… The force dislodges him from his hanging position on the turnbuckle and he falls to the mat landing on his head and right shoulder… This kid is taking a beating!

Psicosis with his double bullhorn taunt… He pumps his fist… The crowd goes wild… “Lucha! Lucha! Lucha!” Psicosis pulls Mysterio to his feet… Sends the young man to the ropes… Mysterio off the ropes… He’s lifted into the air! …and he comes to a hard crash, belly to the mat!

And again Mysterio is brought to his feet, and again he is sent to the ropes… Looks like Psicosis is going for more of the same… No! He tosses Mysterio to the air only to catch him and deliver a wicked powerbomb!

DAMN!

And Psicosis for the pin…

1… 2… 3…

Another three count. Psicosis is quick to his feet, pumps the bullhorns in the air… Mysterio is again slow to get to his feet. He’s looking pretty worn out, but again, he manages to stand. He holds on to the corner ropes, he’s trying to get his bearings…

No such luck! Psicosis gets a running start, hits Mysterio with a splash in the corner… Mysterio falls to the mat. Psicosis pulls Mysterio back up to his feet… Looks like he’s setting up for another powerbomb… Nope! Over the shoulder back breaker… No, something much worse…

Psicosis, Mysterio over his shoulder, runs into the corner… Rock and a hard place… Upside-down, Mysterio’s chest collides with the corner and is crushed between the turnbuckle and Psicosis’ momentum and weight! Mysterio falls on his back to the mat and his opponent slides out of the ring… What could he be planning now?

Psicosis paces like a caged beast… He finds what he’s looking for—a steel chair. He’s going to get back in the ring… No… The referee shakes his head, Psicosis yells at the guy, throws the chair to the cement floor angrily before sliding back into the ring…

Again the horned one pulls Mysterio up by the back of his mask… He pulls the kid across the ring by the nape of his neck before lifting him up into another over-the-shoulder backbreaker… Again a running start and again Mysterio is crushed between the corner and his opponent…

Mysterio writhes on the mat… How much more can this young luchador take?

Psicosis pulls the Technical Kid up by the back of his mask before scoop-slamming him back down to the mat. The Millionaire from Tijuana then heads to the top rope… He’s going for something big! One-and-a-half inverted-moonsault into a senton!

And Psicosis again with the cover…

1… 2… 3…

Mysterio lays on the ground holding his head… He’s got to the count of ten to get back up. Psicosis struts around the ring, motions for Mysterio to get back up and continue his beating…

Rey again slow to get to his feet… He barely makes it up in time… Psicosis gives him not a second… Drop kick to the chest… Mysterio again on the mat in the corner of the ring…

Psicosis motions for his rival to get back up as he heads to the far corner… Rising, Mysterio is immediately met with another stiff dropkick, which slams him into the turnbuckle… Psicosis heads out of the ring, again heading for that steel chair… The ref ain’t going to stop him this time and he heads into the ring with the weapon…

Psicosis sets the chair on the mat before pulling Mysterio back to his feet… He leads the dazed man toward the weapon… And a big DDT! Mysterio’s skull collides directly with that steel chair! He’s hurt; he tries to roll out of the way onto his stomach…

Psicosis is quick with a follow-up… Again he grabs the chair… The steel collides with Mysterio’s upper back, he drops to the mat and as he does so his opponent lays the chair on the back of his fallen rival…

El Millionairio de Tijuana off the top rope! A dangerous moonsault! He comes to land on Mysterio, lodging the chair into the mysterious one’s back… Psicosis rolls his opponent over for another cover…

1… 2… 3…

Psicosis motions that that’s it, that’s the end… How could Mysterio possibly take any more? Mysterio tries to get to his feet… Collapses… But he makes it back up on his second attempt! He uses the corner ropes to help steady himself… And here comes Psicosis with a bull charge, smashing Mysterio into the turnbuckle yet again…

Mysterio on his knees, Psicosis as well… Psicosis back up, he grabs Mysterio, sends him to the ropes… Mysterio off the ropes, he runs into a big dropkick to that injured knee…

He’s rolling around on the mat… Psicosis motions for Mysterio to get back up… He grabs a chair, throws it on top of Mysterio who still lays on the mat… Psicosis up on the top rope… Another moonsault!

Wait! Mysterio lifts his knees, holding the chair across his shins… Psicosis comes to a horrible crash, his stomach colliding with steel and bone…

Mysterio grabs the chair as Psicosis gets back to his feet… He gets a running start before throwing the chair full-force into Psicosis’ face… Psicosis stiffens, falls on his back to the mat…

Psicosis tries to roll out to the apron as he attempts to find his feet… Mysterio is ready… He’s up on the top turnbuckle… Psicosis is caught by a brutal clothesline and is sent out to the concrete floor… Mysterio still in the ring…

Mysterio to the apron… Psicosis on his feet outside… Not for long… High cross body off the apron and both men are sent over the steel guardrail and into the crowd!

Mysterio hops the rail and heads back to the ring apron… What’s he going for here? Oh my God! He leaps from the mat and bounces off the top rope! Slingshot moonsault off the top rope! He catches his opponent and both men are sent sprawling on the cement…

Both men slow to their feet… Mysterio grabs a chair… Psicosis takes a brutal chair shot before attempting to retreat into the crowd… The two men are brawling through the crowd… Back toward the ring… They are at the guardrail… Psicosis takes a chair to the head before Mysterio tosses him over the rail and back to ringside…

Quick to follow, Mysterio brings a chair shot down on his opponent’s back… Mysterio leads his opponent to the far guardrail… Again the horned one is tossed over the railing and into the crowd…

Mysterio stalking like a tiger… He’s got another chair… He’s following Psicosis as his opponent tries to disappear into the crowd… No luck with that getup, the bull-horned lucha mask stands out in the sea of capless marks… Psicosis takes another shot to the skull, the sound of the steel making a sickening thud… Psicosis tries to escape, climbs up to an overhang… Mysterio still right behind him… He throws that steel chair right into Psicosis’ face!

Mysterio up to the second overhang… Psicosis back on his feet… Mysterio off the overhang… Hurricanrana! He takes Psicosis down before going for the pin outside the ring…

1… 2… 3…

Psicosis is slow to get to his feet… It’s a struggle… He’s wobbly… He’s near the edge of the overhang…

OH MY GOD!

He fell off! I don’t know if he’s going to be able to recover from Mysterio’s onslaught and that fall!

Mysterio reenters the ring yells for his opponent to get back up and continue this death match… El Super Super Super Nino folds out the chair he planned to use as a weapon and sits down… The ref continues the ten count…

Psicosis cannot rise…

8… 9… 10!

El Chico Technico de San Diego has won the match! Rey Mysterio Jr. has overcome his rival in this grueling Mexican death-match! He raises his hand in victory while he is still seated in the middle of the ring… He’s slow to stand, but he manages…

The crowd is going wild…

This is just the beginning for this young lucha hero!
