Let us take it back in time to the date of Saturday, April 25, 1992. When Todd Gordon started a different wrestling organization for fans to flock to.

However the version I want to speak did not have its inception until 93. When Paul Heyman took over creative and let all the reigns go free.

Withdrawing from the NWA or National Wrestling Alliance, in order to forge his own legacy. While also completely changing the game in the process of making history.

One must realize that he had a vision to carry out no matter what. Start by putting much more emphasis on the in ring skills of his talented bunch.

As well as promos, backstage vignettes, and their verbal skills on the mic. Not to mention that if fans spoke on topics he would give it a listen and maybe a try.

Along the way he helped make as well as create some of the top stars ever. From Stone Cold to Rey Mysterio, this man's creative genius was undeniable and clever.

The inaugural ECW champion crowned was Shane Douglas aka The Franchise. Who then said for WWF and WCW to go fuk theirselves on that night.

Stating the only real professional wrestling left to watch was their organization. Fully aware his words would be hurtful while digging very deep with penetration.

So on night one in charge Heyman already set the bar exceedingly high. With scathing promos, like the Franchise's that night, being a normal occurence before fights.

He had a very good promo guy that had not one match in his entire career. Sign guy from the Dudleys crew could talk anyone into walking off a pier.

Inciting riots numerous times with his great use of the English language. On seperate times able to make the arena into a sort of Baghdad, or obscenely dangerous.

Leading to different things from just that reason and that reason alone. Such as the Dudleys, Bubba Ray, D-Von and Spike needing to be double tough to atone.

Funny one person can control a crowd with words or each syllable. Making the highs and lows of the show just treating the fans like children, straight gullible.

He also had Tazz, the human wrecking ball who was also known as the human suplex machine. A tough 6 foot walking refrigerator known for handing out extremely brutal beatings.

Of course can not forget the suicidal, genocidal, homicidal, maniacal foreigner that was nuts. Sabu was type of wrestler that would keep fighting after losing his guts.

Now being called the land of extreme means injuries are bound to happpen. Especially with Terry Funk and Cactus Jack involved, living hardcore Legends.

Then time came where a relatively unknown wrestler got signed. Soon as he was fired by WCW was swiftly plucked off the sideline.

I would say not by coincidence is fact that Heyman once was the manager of this man. As part of the Dangerous Alliance only then he had blond hair and a spray tan.

He never had a single match during his time being under contract, since rehabbing an injury he was not allowed to partake in any physical contact.

once this man was brought into the ECW family and fold, a character was born into existence later to be as Stone Cold.

Made no difference that his body was cracked like the Liberty Bell, his mic skills were unamtched ma infamous promos such as Monday Nyquil.

What made his promos so great was fact he was speaking from the heart, angry from being fired by WcW before his career could start.

Can't start to leave out who was the biggest home grown star from the ECW tree. The charasmatic, laid back, weed toking, 420 juggernaut known as RVD.

Now very deservately so enshrined in WWE Hall of Fame, along with the Dudleys, Eddie Guerrero, soon Rey Mysterio, the list is a long thing.

One thing Heyman did to differ them from everyone else in the game, was to bring non American styles to the masses to watch when fans came.

Like the lightning fast paced action style of k Lucha Libre. Also creating a whole new division known as the cruiserweights.

Rey Mysterio, Psychosis, Guerreros, Malenko, and Jericho just to name a few, made their matches must see tv while blinking as little as possible to get through.

Close your eyes for just one second and may miss the move of the night. This pre internet taking over and keeping up meant buying all recorded shows within sight.

If you are wondering what prevented ECW from really battling big 2 for supremecy. No billionaire backing Heyman so to compete just didn't have the money.

To try to make a dent in Vinces pockets or Ted Turners. So his talent got pilfered since the others could pay more.

Leading slowly to the loss of talent plus eventual demise. Only to be like a Phoenix and from the ashes able to arise.

Did not last as long or was nearly as good as before in my opinion. Reason for that was simple, control was takimg away from Heyman.

That is one unintentional result of your competition buying your brand, since when ECW shut down for good it was owned by Vince McMahon.

Yet the true fact is only reason ECW made it through the final few years s that behind the scenes Vince was funneling money while hand selecting which wrestlers warranted a career.

Who would have ever thought an out of shape loud mouth jew from New York, could have more of an effect on the business than any wrestler would.
