Can AT&T Make You Rich?

Why purchasing shares of AT&T could be a smart move by investors.

There's no way to sugarcoat it... we're living in a scary time financially. Between rising interest rates, monstrous inflation levels decimating the US dollar, and all of America's greatest rivals coming together to create their own currency.., well, it appears the US economy's darkest days have yet to come.

This presents those on the journey to attain financial freedom with a challenging decision. How does one navigate through this typhoon of uncontrollable variables and come out with a profit? Right now it's looking like one solid answer to that question rests with AT&T.

Allow me to be very clear... I am in no way a financial advisor. I am (hopefully like you) an investor, who is trying to share information with others so that they can be more informed when making their own investment decisions. In this article, we are going to cover all of the reasons why betting on AT&T could make buckets of money in the market.

A Power House Of A Company

Whether anyone has a problem admitting it, AT&T isn't going anywhere, I don't care how bad of a recession we go into. The fact remains that this Telecommunications powerhouse isn't going anywhere. It was created before most of us were born, it's been around our entire lives, and it's probably going to stay that way long after we're dead. That means putting your money into AT&T can be considered an investment that's more on the safer side.

It's Always Been Cheep & Right Now It's Cheaper

One of the best things about AT&T is how affordable it is for even the average investor. The price of an average share has never gone over 30$. You would be even more pleased to find out that the average share price as of today is around 20$. Basic third-grade math will tell you that with just your first hundred bucks, you can grab yourself 5 shares of the company. If you do that 9 more times, now you own 50 shares of the company, and so on.

That Sweet Sweet Dividend

One of the optimal goals of investing your hard-earned dollar (at least a majority of investors) is generating passive income. In laments terms, that means money that you earn without having to invest your time to do so. Passive income is how you become financially free... but that's a topic for another time.

The way you generate passive income through the stock market is by investing in companies that pay their shareholders a dividend. This is when a massive company (let's say, I don't know... AT&T for example) earns a decently sized profit at the end of an earnings quarter and decides to kick back some of these profits to the investors who've put their faith (and money) into their company. Dividends can be paid monthly, quarterly, bi-annually, or annually; it all depends on the company and how they choose to handle that process.

AT&T pays out a little over $1 annually per share. Before you begin roasting me on how little of an amount of money that is, you should stop and crunch the numbers first. If we're rounding down and each share of AT&T earns you a dollar then that means 50 shares (which you now know costs $1ooo) earn you $50 dollars a year in passive income. There isn't a savings account in the world that would get you that kind of return. There's no reason to stop there either, every 1o grand gets you $500 in passive income and so on. Obviously, the more you invest, the greater the potential return.

The Blueprint

I am far from a financial guru and I wouldn't tell anybody what they should do with their hard-earned cash. You can consider me an unbiased observer who shares his findings with his fellow man. (and woman). And I'm sure based on the numbers, you're probably thinking that you're going to have to earn a fuck ton of money before you can truly be financially free. I'm sure, you're head feels upside down thinking about how many hours you'd have to work in order to have that kind of money to invest. Worry not padawan, within this complicated puzzle, there is an absurdly broken cheat code.

As I stated earlier, companies pay their dividends either quarterly, bi-annually, or annually; some companies even pay out every single month. But how do you receive this payment? Does it go into your bank? Will it just appear on whatever platform you're using for your investments? Interestingly enough, there was a time when people would receive paper checks in the mail. Oh... how far we've come. These days the payment will usually just be deposited into your investing account's open balance. Basically where you're money sits in your account when you don't have it invested into anything. In my opinion, the best place for it to go from there would be right back into the dividend stock that paid it to you. If you continue to do this religiously, you'll be surprised to find out how profitable your investment has become over time; even better than that, a decent chunk of that invested money didn't require you to move a finger. In science, this is called a positive feedback loop. If you consistently feed into it, the result of all of that dedication could change your family tree for generations.

Now The Big Secret!

Remember when I said that a share of AT&T went for $20 on average.?Wel... I kind of lied. That was for the quitters who started reading this article but didn't follow through until the end. For those of you who did, you'll be pleased to find out, that at the time of this writing.., a share of AT&T goes for a little over $18. All of the numbers that were crunched, were based on the premise that the share price was around $20. Again.., that may not seem like a lot when you're thinking at the ground level. However, the more money that you invest, the more you're going to realize and understand just how crucial that two-dollar difference really is. I said several times throughout the course of this article, I am not a financial guide. Although, if one were to ask what it is I have on my investing mind, I'd say: "I'm putting my money on AT&T.
