I'm Sick of Zombies
Okay, so the title is a little misleading. It's not that I hate zombies, per se. If there's a movie about zombies I'll probably watch it, and have a really great time. I've probably played more video games and read more books about zombies than anything else.
Lewis ReesPublished 7 years ago in HorrorHave Horror Films Ever Been Quality?
Horror films have been a staple of cinema since the advent of films as a mainstream medium of entertainment. They’ve birthed untold nightmares in the minds of children and adults alike, tapping deep into the fears that lay within even the best of man. It would stand to reason then that the genre will have had a golden period of sorts to point to as a shining example of the form, but that isn’t really the case.

There used to be an old horror story about an old man that once lived in an old, single-story house. If you lit a candle — even if you bought it from the 99 cent store — he would appear, thinking it was his wife. Apparently, she loved candles; she loved them so much she would sit at the dining table and watch the flicker of the fire until the wick burned out. Two weeks before Christmas the old man — Phil, we’ll call him — decided to have a little fun. He bought the “new and improved” Elf on the Shelf that had two camera lenses in his eyes. He figured he would make a film of all the times it would scare her, and if she talked to it at all, then he'd give it to her for Christmas.

About a year after he had done the deed, I met my now husband. Throughout our relationship we have had some freaky paranormal experiences. It first began in my old house, before I moved in with my current husband. We would be sitting in my room and he would randomly jump and then ask if I had grabbed his shoulder, I would deny it every time. We first shrugged the experiences off but, it started to become hectic when I had moved in with my husband and a couple of roommates.
The Monsters
The dead sheep lay across the road, its glazed eye reflecting the light from the car’s single headlamp. It lay in a small puddle of blood which was slowly being washed away by the light rain.

The Curious Origins of Your Favorite Halloween Traditions

Professor Swann wasn’t particularly keen on coffee. He found it way too coarse, and no matter how many nips of sugar he added to it, he found it left a rather bitter taste in his mouth. It certainly didn’t have the refinement of tea, that’s for sure.

Are You Afraid of the Dark?
There is just something about horror films that keep us coming back for more. Whether it's the sense of danger that boosts our adrenaline, knowing that we can watch the danger on our screen whilst knowing we are perfectly safe, or maybe it's the thrill of being scared that keeps drawing us back.
