Foreign policy challenges for Joe Biden

In the last four years Trump administration has done a lot of stuff on the foreign front, you may or may not agree with the policies of Trump but he was always in the news relating to the foreign affairs stuff. So lets analyse the legacy of President Trump and what's ahead for Biden.

Lets start with the region Mr. Trump invested most of his time and resources ' The Middle East' . President Trump spent most of his time solving the problems related to Middle East in the form of providing the so-called peace plan for solving the conflict between Israel and Palestine or acting as a broker between Muslim countries and Israel in normalizing their relations. Trump made in charge of the Middle East his Son-in-Law Jared Kushner, someone who he can trust and someone who can strike a deal. Its hard to say either policies of President Trump showed success because in his eyes his team done well but the sparkling Israel-Palestine conflict is still their and countries recognizing Israel wont make any difference in this conflict. President elect Joe Biden has called Israel's Prime minister ' Racist' so we can expect some changes at the foreign front in Middle East but it will be a miracle if he could any breakthrough, the wind of change has been blown by Trump and it will be very difficult for Mr. Biden to stop this wind. It will be interesting to see Biden's policy on America's ally KSA and the Crown Prince MBS because the murder of Jamal Ahmad Khashoggi is still fresh on some minds and it can cause some problems for MBS. We will discuss Iran separately.

Lets move to South-Asia, US- China relationship in the past four years were not quite good. We all saw a Tariff game between these two giants and Trump calling Corona virus the Chinese virus did not help the relationship either. By looking at the track record of Mr. Biden we can say that the two countries will move towards the talks and will try to solve the problems through talks and we hope to see the Tariff game ending soon. On Afghanistan US will try to evacuate their forces silently and will facilitate the Afghans in deciding their future for themselves. In case of Pakistan, we can expect some glitches because Pakistan unfortunately put all their eggs in the Trumps basket and it did not end well, Mr Biden and his stance on human rights will create some tension between the two states.

Iran, the country which troubled the most Mr. Trump in his four years and both countries were on the verge of war at the start of 2020. It is hard to predict the Biden policy on this issue but we can say that with confidence that it will be much better than of President Trump.

Mr . Biden has lot of challenges ahead but not as severe as challenges Obama and Trump inherited, he can play slow and take his time to figure out things and he can deal with challenges based on their subjectivity.
