Political Socialization
I don’t remember my first encounter with politics. While it could be argued that this is because everything is political by nature as everyone’s political views either affect or reflect how they approach questions and circumstances throughout their life, the far simpler deep-dive lies in my relationship to my paternal grandmother.

Before we get into it, I just want to say that not all English people are racist. I totally understand that some people have that impression following the aftermath of the Euros. The abuse and discrimination has been overwhelming, and my immediate thought was honestly that England is a lost cause. It's hard to understand that people can be so hateful over something that doesn't matter.

Almost immediately after it emerged that a white supremacist had stabbed three men who were trying to prevent him from attacking Muslim women in a Portland train on 26 May 2017, killing two of them, the police force began to mitigate the brutality of what had happened.
Rebecca Ruth GouldPublished 3 years ago in The SwampA People’s Vaccine Against a Mutating Virus and Neoliberal Rule
A recent Yahoo News/YouGov poll found that worries about the COVID pandemic in the United States are at their lowest level since it began. Only half of Americans are either “very worried” (15%) or “somewhat worried” (35%) about the virus, while the other half are “not very worried” (30%) or “not worried at all” (20%).
Slavery, Oppression, and the Dawn of the Free World
Imagine that you are the passenger in a car on a long work-related road trip. In the driver’s seat is your boss — a hard, driving tyrant of a man who seems to be on his last nerve. He’s driving the two of you to your destination on a busy, narrow two-lane highway. You hoped to get this trip over with a minimum amount of communication between the two of you, and so far, it’s going okay. But there’s just one problem. You checked your GPS…he’s headed in the wrong direction. He’s been heading in the wrong direction for over an hour.
Carmelo San PaoloPublished 3 years ago in The SwampWhat in The Critical Race Theory?
As a Black Asian American, I wondered, what the hell is critical race theory? Am I supposed to capitalize all three words? Was I absent from history class? So I did a quick five-minute Google search, and this is what I found. According to Tara Yosso, "Critical race theory examines social, cultural, and legal issues as they relate to race and racism." Ah, so this is what white folks are all upset over. They don't want to know why their grandparents and further generations participate in the inhumane practices of chattel slavery, Jim Crow, and now police brutality. Honestly, this is something new the right-wingers can claim white people are being persecuted over.
AFRICAN HUMAN RIGHTS VS. WESTERN HUMAN RIGHTS
In April 2016, a number of young Eritrean conscripts leapt out of trucks heading for a forced labour camp in an act of defiance against the Eritrean regime. Asmara, the capital of Eritrea, was crowded with family and friends, who were waiting in the market area to help the fugitives escape.
Freedom
No one enjoys and appreciates freedom than a person who has and is been deprived of it. Freedom is the most loved and highly appreciated moment in the life of a man. Being deprived of freedom can result in a whole lot of things. Humans won't be able to attain their full potential when deprived of freedom, It brings limits to a man's thoughts, It makes vision seem impossible and unattainable. A man that is in bondage or slavering can not see any good things happening to him, And that is not his fault. He is constrained to doing that which he is required to do and to say. his movements are restricted as he can not move beyond the geographical area he's been confined to. He is deprived of seeing the outside world the way every human will see and interact with it. All he does is to see the same environment and buildings around his ecosystem.
Olalekan AdeekoPublished 3 years ago in The SwampIs The Covid 19 Pandemic Beginning of The End of The World As We Have Known It?
We are in a truly epochal moment in time with the ongoing Covid 19 Pandemic wreaking havoc around the world. While our overburdened healthcare systems struggle to cope with the record waves and surges of the infected, our politicians are clueless and our administrators helpless. On the other hand, the much vaunted private sector has for once, been knocked off its self constructed high pedestal as even they cannot claim that they are “masters of all they survey”.

Post-War Paradise The American Dream. It became a slogan and mindset after the American’s won World War II. The horror and scale of destruction left a nasty imprint on so many young soldiers' minds, that they wanted to comfort and security when they got home. They wanted to all but forget all the dark and horrific scenes that were played out in front of them overseas daily.
Jacques StarPublished 3 years ago in The SwampHow Is Australia Obligated To Advancing Human Rights Globally?
Human rights hold a significant place in everyone's life, and issues related to them can potentially affect anyone. The problems are like experiencing discrimination in the workplace because of age, race or gender. Some people with distinctive sexual orientations or gender individualism are bullied for expressing themselves or whom they are attracted to. This is where human rights and global governance play a vital role as these take care of human preferences.
Assignment Help AusPublished 3 years ago in The SwampYes, of course race is a social construct
While I was in college, one of my affable hippie professors declared, to an audience of Poli-Sci 101 students, that race was a "social construct." Observing the confused looks on his students’ faces, he elaborated. Race is a man-made concept, he said, and is not necessarily based in science. Instead, racial labels (including "black" and "white") change with the times--and with political agendas. He pointed out that some European immigrants weren't considered "white" in 19th-century America, when they were new and unwelcome.
