Rwanda seems to be back in the frame again. Home Secretary James Cleverly and Rishi Sunak vow to plough on with the scheme. Despite, the High Court, denouncing the plan, the Sunak administration is carrying on with it. The plan, in a nutshell, is to fly, illegal migrants, to Rwanda. Recently, Home Secretary, James Cleverly flew out to Rwanda to ratify the deal with his Rwandan counterpart. So, if the plan, sees the light of day Rwanda is ready to receive the first arrivals from Britain. However, when asked if the Rwanda plan would be up and running soon, James Cleverly, said "No"! Mr Cleverly said, "It won't be till after the next general election"!

So, what was the point of Cleverly flying out there then? If the Tories lose the election next year, as they probably will, the plan will be null and void, anyway! Certainly, If Labour wins they will scrap the plan. Therefore, the plan will never see the light of day. Cleverly's predecessors Priti Patel and Suella Braverman, also, tried to give the Rwanda plan, a fighting chance! Patel even flew out to Rwanda to sign the Rwanda plan into being with her Rwandan counterpart (like Cleverly). However, the plan has been constantly blocked and delayed by the high court.

The government is currently housing illegals in hotels, a barge, and now an airbase from where the 'Damnbusters' flew. Communities opposed to the housing of migrants (waiting to have their cases heard) have been demonstrating against these measures. It's not that (although some might be) these communities are racist, it's just that, they worry about young men from elsewhere, who may be a threat (Terrorists, criminals, etc). Not tarring all migrants as being up to no good either. Some are no doubt, genuine people, fleeing persecution, war, and famine and some may have family here. Nevertheless, the question is always asked, "Why are many of the migrants, just men and in particularly young men"?

Migrants are still streaming across the channel. The UK has given the French "Loads of money" as one particular comedian used to say in the 80s and for what? Are the French helping us to control the number of migrants? The figures are still high for the number of people coming here! One cannot help but think Macron is taking the piss. As long as the migrants are leaving French territory, why should the French, give a damn?

Sunak made five pledges, one of those, was to stop the boats coming here. Well, that isn't going to happen anytime soon, is it? Maybe, Sadiq Khan, had the right idea, as they did in Australia, to send the Royal Navy out, as a deterrent. However, in an environment, where crooked lawyers, block deportations and the Rwanda plan, (Let's face it), is dead in the water. Is the Rwanda plan even if it were up and running moral? Are the people who would be flown out there safe?

Yvette Cooper Labour's Shadow Home Secretary has opposed the Rwanda plan from day 1. She has seen off Priti Patel, and Suella Braverman, and will probably see off James Cleverly. If Labour wins the general election, she will then become Home Secretary herself. Cooper has criticised the government over its handling of the migrants. With an eye to next year's general election, Yvette will step up her attacks on the Conservatives over this. Not only for the humane treatment of these people but for those deemed illegal, to be dealt with accordingly and properly.

Sir Keir Starmer, has objected to the Rwandan plan, as just being a "gimmick". Why a gimmick? Simply because the Tories are trying to appeal to the right to the far right. Hoping against hope, that being tough on migrants, might be enough to save them.

Suella Braverman, made her first speech, since her sacking as the Home Secretary. Suella admitted, that her statements had upset a lot of people. Nevertheless, she said, not achieving results on migration will cast the Tories into oblivion at the next general election.
