Better Treatment for Employees

Before I start, I already know I have no chance of winning any Presidential election. I am still going to run though, so that’s that. The only people that can win are those with a lot of money that are not concerned with the average American. How can they possibly relate? I have worked in restaurants and retail and seen firsthand how we are treated by customers and employers. I worked at a fast-food burger joint were this lady got a call that her son was seriously injured, and she needed to get to the hospital and guess what the manager said to her, “Which is more important, your son or your job?” So, this lady informed that little mindless woman that her son is more important and left the job.

Now we hear stories, at the time I am writing this, about workers in Texas losing their jobs because they could not show up for work or losing pay because they missed a couple days, sometimes because the company closed due to burst pipes and refused to allow employees to use their paid time off.

Americans have some of the worst vacation and sick leave time off in this world and of course our mindless politicians have no intention of fixing it. Just call it Socialism or fascism, whichever gets people against whatever the politicians do not like.

As President, every citizen will be guaranteed at least 2 weeks' time off for disasters which can be extended for severe disasters. They cannot be terminated for not showing up for work during a disaster. Employers must be forced to consider their employees not just themselves. I realize thinking of others, instead of yourself, is hard for most people.

Vacation time will be minimum of 3 weeks and employees should not have to be berated for taking time off. Trust me, some companies, not just retail and restaurants have huge fits anytime an employee takes off.

Sick leave will be given to everyone including part-time workers. Do you really want a sick employee breathing on your burger? Also, paid paternity and maternity leave. If both parents work at the same company, then they can rotate time off. Not sure why employers don’t give sick leave to part-time employees or retail and restaurant workers. Just kidding, it’s greed, malice and not caring.

Employees will no longer have to worry about losing their jobs for something legal they post or something they say while not at work. Employers do not own their employees and I have had a boss tell us they own us. If what they post is not threatening which is defined as: physicals, verbal or sexual threats, threats of violence, also post that insult the company or employees or employers will not be protected. Most legal behavior will be protected. Those that are not are included above such as insulting your employer or fellow employees online. Racist, or sexist speech will not be protected.

Employees have a right to work in a safe environment and the EPA and OSHA will be strengthened to ensure that. Law Enforcement will have better body armor and camaras, as well as training.

Now I know I have no chance of winning, only the same ole’ people that serve the establishment can win. I am not a socialist, but I do agree with a few of their ideas and the same is true of liberals and conservatives. I will choose strong and capable cabinet members and a strong VP, and we can truly make America better. Your choice: the same or someone that knows what it is like to be poor.
