Looking at You Florida
No words can explain my seething anger at this moment. I have lost all faith in the slimy snakes who drivel feces from their mouth while pretending to care about those in their state and communities. There were two bills, TWO BILLS that would have banned assault rifles in Florida.

PYEONGCHANG, KOREA — Canada is not best known for being a heat source. Although the country has signed onto the Paris Accord, they have never been considered a major player in the fight for climate change.
Just Say No to Guns!
Guns are made to kill. Nothing more nothing less. Whether they are pointed at animals or humans, they are for killing. Guns are not for personal decoration. They are made specifically to create death.
Michael BlairPublished 6 years ago in The SwampTo Shoot, or Not to Shoot...
In the wake of the recent mass shooting in Florida, it’s left people searching for answers. We need solutions to a widespread issue that’s taken numerous amounts of innocent lives, and scarred many others forever. Whether you’ve been a victim or have been connected to a victim of crimes like these, we can all agree that something needs to be done about it.

Should teachers be allowed to politically educate our children? This essay results from reading a post on Facebook. A post was questioning why do some on the Left continue to apparently ignore the millions killed in Russia and China during the imposition of one party “communist” government make the case for communism or insist upon applying a ridiculous veneer of objectivity when discussing its history? They quite rightly wouldn’t do this with the horror that was fascism or apartheid South Africa. And yet to wave a hammer and sickle flag at a rally is to celebrate a record of bloodshed and misery.

As I sit here on my bed, having just received news of school being cancelled due to an ice storm, I can't help but think of the recent school shooting tragedy. You see, I'm not a teacher...yet. I'm trying my best to become one. I have wanted to become a teacher for many years and now I'm on my way. I was supposed to be in my assigned classroom where I learn under a mentor teacher. The thing about today is it was supposed to be the first time back in a classroom since the shooting in Florida.

Another school shooting. Seventeen amazing young people and teachers murdered in a Florida high school. A dozen more injured. Hundreds traumatized by the event. Tragic. We send our thoughts and prayers.

It all happened in a blur. In a crowded mall, surrounded by hundreds of people, a couple days before Christmas. No one expected it. 4:28 PM, gunshots are fired. Everyone in the mall panics. Everyone is running in different directions, trying to make it out alive. Right when I think I made it out, hear the loudest noise I have ever heard. I scream as I feel the most excruciating pain when a bullet pierces through my skin. I fall to the floor, bleeding.

I first want to express my condolences for all the victims and families of the recent shooting in Florida as well as all other innocent lives that have been taken by shootings in the past. Many people I speak with seem to become desensitized to these heinous acts of violence as they continue to happen all too often.

17 people needlessly shot dead at the Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland Florida. It certainly feels the same. So does the immediate, angry response that implores change. But determined high school students standing and demanding a 360 seems different. “Shame on You,” sounds like a rallying cry that has legs and certainly felt that way when Erin Fuller took the mic in front of Republican Headquarters in White Plains. In front of about 250 people, she let it be known that letting the NRA walk all over her (or anyone else) is not an option anymore.

Ritual human sacrifice has played a wide range of roles in history. Some cultures have believed that a god would simply trade favors for an offering. Some cultures dispatched their offerings as messengers, to carry requests into the afterlife addressing a god or gods directly. The Druids performed ritual human sacrifices as part of divination ritual. In any case, these examples describe a moral system wherein the religious needs of the group outweigh the value of human life. A victory over a neighboring tribe, a bountiful harvest later on in the year, or the successful births of enough babies to keep the group populated all necessary at any cost.
Dear America...
I have always been so incredibly proud to be an American, where at least, I knew I was free. But something has happened to my beloved country.
