Bradley GreenlandPublished 4 years ago in The SwampSecret Societies: Who Were The Assassins?
The Assassins were a group so feared, and whose reach was so far, that their very name became synonymous with murder for political means. While most of their history was lost with the fall of their strongholds, we do know some things about this organization, its founder, and the actions of its followers. And while they didn't invent parkour (at least not officially), they were certainly the auteur geniuses who came up with using the constant threat of knives in the dark as a way to keep a populace in line.

Greetings! The COVID-19, aka coronavirus crisis goes on and so do trump’s failures as a “president”, as well as the charlatanism of his cheerleaders. Many of them are the evangelical Christian wing, who can’t stop seeing trump-thrice-married adulterer, tax-business-wife-golf cheater, racist, sexist, ignoramus rich kid who got out of the draft through his father’s connections-as their Messiah.

In January of this year it was revealed that the number of homicides across the United Kingdom had fallen for the first time in 5 years. Yet the perception remains that, as a nation, we face a growing threat from violent crime and in particular from knife crime. It's a perception that evokes strong reaction, especially when the human cost of carrying a weapon hits home in our communities. Even a single life lost due to carrying a knife is one life too many.
Shaun EnnisPublished 4 years ago in The SwampAfter the virus
After the virus Will the reckoning be helpful? When the emergency that is Corona-virus, passes and things everywhere return to “normal” what will that normal be? How will political governance change? Will there be a world wide shift in political ideology, away from materialism and towards humanism? (Humanism is defined as a belief in the advancement of humanity by its own efforts.) Will religions be weakened? How will politicians use the aftermath?
Peter RosePublished 4 years ago in The SwampIs the Fed Guilty of Fraud?
As COVID-19 makes every headline and scares global populations into a literal stasis of forced as well as imposed fear in what many are calling “one great psy-opp,” I can’t help but pause to consider the words of Winston Churchill, namely: “Never waste a good crisis.”
matt piepenburgPublished 4 years ago in The SwampReason First: Discrimination Now!
COVID-19, for the most part is taking out the elderly. Why are our political leaders not discussing this? Children can contract the virus and give it to their grandparents one might say. So, isolation of the silver-haired citizens should be the next move. But this is to protect them, not to exclude and disrespect their freedom of movement. The housing could be made by force since we pay into Social Security. However, the private actions of generally rational adults will be more than happy to be away from their family for a few days, weeks, months until all are well again.

There are certain key historical moments one can point to when discussing the injustices countless faced during the fight for Civil Rights in the early 20th Century. The Tulsa race massacre, Emmett Till's grotesque murder, the Selma to Montgomery marches and Dr. King assassination are a few examples of these pivotal events.
Ghezal AmiriPublished 4 years ago in The SwampDon't Read The Guardian
The Guardian believes they are a beacon for the best in news and opinion; unfortunately they are no more than opinionated-news. Infuriatingly, The Guardian was voted as the most trusted newspaper in the UK, so not everyone will get behind this rant, however I feel the need to share my opinion.
Stop Abbott
If there is no such thing as bad publicity then can someone please explain the glaring exception to the rule - Abbott. Shadow Home Secretary Diane Abbott is the human embodiment of the Labour Party's missteps. If ever an MP rolls their eyes, expect to see Abbott giving a nonsensical rant about ten subjects at once. Abbott is the political version of turning up to PE at secondary school and for some reason the substitute geography teacher is in charge. You know that they were hired in the first place, they must know something. So why are they hunched in the corner of the gym, fumbling to find their words, whilst being pummelled by basketballs?
