Keir Set Boris A Trap!

Sir Keir Outlines How Boris Fell into His Trap.

By Nicholas BishopPublished 4 days ago 3 min read
Sir Keir Starmer and Boris Johnson.

In an article in 'The Guardian' Sir Keir Starmer has revealed how he caught Boris Johnson out. Sir Keir revealed that he always suspected Johnson's relationship with the truth "would bring him down". I "set a trap" for the ex-Priminister caught out over 'Partygate'.

When 'The Guardian' pressed him about name-calling by Boris Johnson over the dispatch boxes, Sir Keir replied "I couldn't care less". One of the insults Boris hurled against him was calling him a "pointless human bollard"!

"I'm not saying I have insight, but I felt his character would bring him down", Sir Keir said. Sir Keir continued "I thought this guy was detached from the truth". Whether he's lying or not, doesn't matter to him".

"When I first asked him 'Did you apply all the rules'? I hadn't seen the video of Allegra (Stratton, then director of strategic communications). He was told about her laughing in response to being asked about the parties"?

"So I said (to my team) I think there's something here. Let's get him on the record. Because his instinct will be to lie". Continuing his theme of setting up his 'Boris' trap "It was a thread that we pulled over months, I was less bothered by what he said to me than trying to be forensic and getting him on the record. He had to leave parliament - because he lied".

Allegra Stratton was forced to resign or she had no choice but to resign over a video which showed her laughing over a Christmas Downing Street party. London and the wider country were in lockdown and told not to gather over COVID restrictions.

Boris lasted 7 more months just about surviving a 'no confidence' vote within his party. Reports over constant rule-breaking in Downing Street caused this no-confidence vote. Johnson, his wife Carrie, and future Prime Minister then Chancellor Rishi Sunak were fined along with 83 others over breaking lockdown rules. When all these lockdown misdemeanours were being committed by these people, the rest of us were obeying, (in the main) lockdown rules.

What brought down Boris Johnson in the end was the Chris Pincher affair. A torrid nasty allegation of a Tory Minister groping people. Pincher thought as many people in power do, that their position of power would protect them. Boris tried to protect him and must have known about the allegation surrounding Pincher. However, when the allegation could no longer be refuted and with mass resignations over the affair, Johnsons' position became untenable.

Conversely, the former Prime Minister denies lying to Sir Keir, his party, the rest of parliament, the media, and the public, to this very day. Only Johnson knows what he was thinking on those occasions over these breaches of decency or does he?

Boris' successor Rishi Sunak is launching the 'Tory Manifesto' with the Scottish Tory leader, in Scotland. The polls place Sunak in the bin of political history. No matter what the out-of-touch Prime Minister does he is along with his party doomed. Try as he might, (if he does) he doesn't get the lifestyle that most of us have to live. Being without 'Sky TV' when he was a kid was going "without" for young Rishi. No worrying about where the next meal was coming from for him.

Sunak and the Tories will receive a good walloping on election day (July 4). The Tories will receive fewer seats than they did after Tony Blair won in 1997. You could be looking at 100 - 50 seats. Sir Keir and Labour will receive a massive number of seats allowing them to form a government. The Lib Dems thanks to the bumbling around of their leader Ed Davey (watch his performances on YouTube, etc) will receive a good number of seats. Reform with their 'marmite' leader (love him or hate him) Nigel Farage is expected to get seats too. The SNP may not get as many seats this time as Labour is making gains against them in Scotland.
