As I sit here and read a New York Times article about President Donald Trump, I can't help but imagine an old lady propped up at a dark smokey lounge near an airport somewhere slurping her third gin and tonic blaspheming about her ex husband. A shadow of her former self, precisely deploying the most spiteful insults and sentiment all the while knowing she had a much different opinion of said "bastard" at a different point in time and despite her level of intoxication the articulation and mutilation of said reputation of the ex was flawless and concise with the intent to destroy satisfied for now.

So as I sit and read this piece proffered by Carlos Slim and Co., a.k.a. the New York Times, and impassioned "Trump hater" author (rcohen) and the squallid drivel- articulated... I get the sense of a first grade student explaining why the pants are wet with urine and how "something?" happened. This degree of immaturity somehow converted into commercially viable prose meant for mass consumption is so tainted with bias and propaganda it has caused this otherwise satirical poet/writer to lay down some of my own fanciful opinions also with the hopes of gaining half the fervor that these incredibly immature "professional" journalists are spewing at America and Americans and getting paid to do so.

I write this small essay with hopes there will be others whom have experienced this same phenomenon of "hyper-denigration" via mob or ex-girlfriend... the age old alienation "art form" of slander originally intended to destroy ex-husbands reputations, a lover's scorn or maybe a lousy boss from a job gone bad, an art originated most likely on a bar stool by angry spiteful people who see the default of "others" as their successes. I am sure we have all experienced this to some degree at some point in our lives wether it was at summer camp or the high school prom... it seems everyone will be eternally jealous of the kid in the shiny Corvette or the girl with the prettiest dress at the dance—it's just the way we are.

I have never understood why some people cannot be happy "for" others or why there are so many people willing to sabotage the success of others in order to be happy.

I can clearly remember admiring Donald Trump from the 80s back when nobody had anything bad to say about Donald Trump, and as I witnessed Mr. Trump ascend in his career throughout the years, it seemed he was definitely a celebrated American businessman with a notable degree of successes, and when Donald Trump was on the ever popular TV reality series The Apprentice for eight seasons there was never so much as a quip of negativity about Sir Donald Trump. Then, ironically, as the prospect of Donald Trump becoming president of the United States of America became evident in 2015, so did said prospects of becoming villainized, openly hated, continually condemned and loved simultaneously.

A juxtaposition of bewilderment and amazement I am sure Mr Trump experienced in becoming one of the most successful individuals in American history and possibly the world. Donald H Trump steps forward to assume the gargantuan task of presiding over the United States of America and is hindered at the onset with backstabbing, humiliation, slander and pure spiteful envy...because Donald Trump has attained a position in the world no one else is likely to ever come close to EVER...Billionaire, Real Estate Mogul, Reality TV star and now President of the United States of America.

I have experienced an epiphany thanks to Donald Trump...a sad reality that our society is so fragmented that we beg to see our leaders fail, suppress success of others, intentionally conjure and produce so much hate and animosity to destroy what someone worked hard to build simply out of spite and low self esteem.

This is not the America I know...this country where it's own citizens attempt to suppress the meteoric success of a fellow American; I come from a proud America.

Something has changed us as a country; I have witnessed this and unfortunately so has Donald Trump, President of the United States of America. My hope and purpose now is that possibly Americans will better understand the obvious task at hand and simple slogan...

"Make America Great Again" starts with us.
