Farage Meets McDonald Milkshake!

The Clacton Candidate.

Newly Crowned Reform UK Leader: NIgel Farage.

Nigel Farage wasn't meant to be standing as a candidate in this general election. He was largely going to let Reform's leader, Richard Tice, also a candidate in the general election, get on with it. Farage would campaign for Reform and fly out to the States to help His Royal Orangeness, Donald Trump.

However, Farage, 60, has changed His mind about being a candidate for Reform. So, what made the veteran politician and GB News Presenter, change His mind? Was it the fact that Trump could face prison over the Stormy Daniels affair? In his own words, Farage said He could not let down his supporters. So, Farage is now the Reform candidate for Clacton. Farage has tried and failed 7 times to be an MP. Many pundits this time feel, that Farage, could win the seat. If so, it would be the first time Farage would enter parliament.

If former Labour and Tory MP (now Reform) Lee Anderson keeps His seat, Farage would not be the only Reform MP. Richard Tice the former Reform leader (Farage has taken over) is also, hoping to be elected. So could Reform have several MPs in the House of Commons? Reform is hoping to lure both Labour and Tory voters.

Likewise, George Galloway's Workers Party of Britain is hoping to attract voters and put more 'WPOB' bums on seats as MPs.

Nigel Farage arrived in Clacton and declared His candidacy for the Clacton seat. All the major parties are standing in Clacton. As Farage emerged from a Wetherspoons pub, a flying McDonald's milkshake hit him squarely in the face. The liquid covered his head and suit as he climbed aboard His battle bus.

Farage will attract many supporters and detractors. Controversial figures whether left or right or in between will be lauded or hated in equal measure!

Enemies of political figures lobbing things are nothing new. One remembers when a burly farmer threw an egg at 'Les Dawson' look-alike John Prescott in the 90s. Prescott a bruiser Himself wrestled with the farmer.

Mr. Farage was the UKIP leader and then became the leader of the Brexit Party. When Boris Johnson won His landslide victory in 2019 and took us out of the EU, Mr. Farage stepped down. The Brexit Party then became the Reform Party or Reform UK headed by Richard Tice.

Now Mr. Farage is back at the helm of Reform UK. Mr. Tice must have been happy to make way. Believing that Mr. Farage back as a leader might ignite a groundswell of support and get Reform their first elected MPs.

So, what's changed as Nigel Farage, Richard Tice, and others believe Reform might be on the cusp of something? Have they identified something in the public mood, that means their time has come? Is it the amount of migrants/immigrants coming to the UK that has made people rush into the arms of Reform? Does some of the populace, feel fed up with Conservatives and Labour?

Will UK voters give parties like Reform and WPOB (Workers Party of Britain) a chance? Many will be fed up with the same old parties. Many will want to give Farage and Galloway a chance. It's possible, we could see the first Reform or WPOB MPs.

However, the UK's 'First Past The Post' voting system does not favour smaller or outside parties too well. That means if you vote for parties other than Labour or the Conservatives, your chance of getting your chosen candidate elected is slim.

That's not to say other party's candidates don't break through as there are examples of where this has happened. However, it is high time, that our voting system was changed to reflect the voting intentions of voters. Voters who choose not to go with the status quo of Labour and Conservative.
