We Remember

Americans would do well to remember one important thing about Donald Trump who is a prominent American businessman, television personality, and politician who served as the 45th President of the United States from January 20, 2017, to January 20, 2021. The Republican Party seems ready to embrace him yet again as a presidential candidate and some in the US find thsi difficult to digest in light of the January 6 attack on the Capital.

Before entering politics, Trump was best known for his real estate ventures and his role as the host of the reality TV show "The Apprentice." He built a real estate empire, which includes luxury hotels, resorts, and golf courses, and he also had his name associated with various branded products and services. Trump called for the execution of the Central Park 5-African American teens accused of attacking a white female. These young men were proven innocent but if people had listed to Trump they would be dead.

Americans should not forget

ln 2015, Trump announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for President of the United States. His campaign was marked by controversial and unconventional statements, often targeting opponents and sparking media attention. Despite facing criticism and controversy during the campaign, he won the Republican nomination and faced Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee, in the general election.

On November 8, 2016, Donald Trump won the presidential election and became the President-elect. His presidency was marked by numerous policy changes and significant actions, including tax reform, regulatory rollbacks, and the appointment of three Supreme Court justices.

Don't relive the past

During his time in office, Trump's administration was often embroiled in controversy and faced various legal challenges. His approach to diplomacy and foreign policy was also notable, with significant developments in international relations, including summits with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and efforts to renegotiate trade deals.

His tenure was also marked by a polarized political climate and frequent clashes with the media. He had a distinctive communication style, frequently using Twitter to express his views and communicate directly with his followers. Racism and anti-semitism increased under Trump's watch and who can ever get the image out of their minds of White Nationalists chanting "Jews will not replace us."

How can Americans ignore these things and so much more and desire to vote Trump into office again? I lost so many Facebook friends while "The Donald " was in office. White friends I grew up with and who were close to my brothers were posting a lot of hate and racism and were not ashamed. I could not tolerate feeling apprehensive as I noticed Confederate flags appearing everywhere and so much hate whenever anyone said Black Lives Matter.

Is America condemned to a repeat performance?

Things have calmed down a bit since Biden became president and he has hsi own issues. Still, many Americans do not desire to relieve the Trump years and do not understand that many US citizens desire this very thing to take place again. Why did the hate and negativity not lead to Trumpsters waking up and seeing how vile this man is? Could it be that they like the fact that Trump is uncouth and unfiltered, and embraces hate because it gave them license to do the same?

Nothing that happened while Donald Trump was president made America greater or better I return to the fact that Trump wanted 5 innocent men condemned to death without a shred of evidence that suggested they were guilty He did not care that the White House was desecrated and a police officer crushed.

Donald Trump's presidency came to an end on January 20, 2021, when Joe Biden was inaugurated as the 46th President of the United States. Since then, Trump has remained influential in Republican politics and with his followers and that is pretty scary for the rest of us who remember his past.

I completely agree. When he was elected, I wanted to give him the "benefit of the doubt" and see what he'd do. He just about destroyed America. He brought out and condoned the hate in people. He said it was ok to laugh at the disabled. He TOOK a purple heart from a disabled vet. Yeah, I know, the idiot gave it to him but the bigger idiot took it. ............ I HOPE WE DO NOT HAVE A REPEAT PERFORMANCE OF HIS YEARS IN THE W.H.
