It’s not bad enough that we have to deal with the most ignorant president of all time in the U.S. His cabinet members make idiotic moves daily. The richest person in the world benefits by being joined to Mr. Cheeto President. You know who it is. Rockets to Mars, 14 kids by different women (that we know of), a ketamine-infused trillionaire who could use his money for good but instead buys elections.

Here we go again. An article in WIRED Magazine has a live tracker showing Elon Musk’s spending to attack democrats. To quote Wired: “As of October 6, America PAC, the main Musk-affiliated super PAC, had deployed $24.8 million of the $31 million it has spent on this year’s races into seven key US Senate contests that are widely seen as close—if not toss-ups—and represent a path for Democrats to take control of the chamber this November.  America PAC appears, based on filings to date, smaller, and aimed differently, than it was two years ago. The $31 million it has spent on candidates so far this year is about a third of the $85.9 million it had spent on them by the same point in 2024, when more than 90 percent of that money went to the presidential race and almost none to Senate races. America PAC registered with the FEC in May 2024 and overall spent $261 million that cycle, with about 95 percent of its funding coming from Musk.”

America PAC has spent $1.3 million on digital media purchases to oppose Talarico. A large portion of the rest has gone to printed materials, postage, and campaign calls. Other groups are paying for television ads.

Musk lives in Texas, where Tesla and SpaceX are based. The PAC has spent more than $9.4 million on ads against Democrat James Talarico and $1.8 million to back Republican Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. Federal officials investigated Paxton for alleged misuse of his office. The Department of Justice closed the investigation without bringing any charges against him. Paxton trails Talarico in every public poll since August. A recent poll by Marist University puts Talarico ahead by about 6 points.

Talarico is 37, a graduate of the University of Texas and Harvard Graduate School of Education, and has an M.A. in theological studies; as the grandson of a minister, it is no surprise he is so well-spoken. He is a former teacher and serves in the Texas House of Representatives.

Musk calls his children’s mothers “breeders.” He could use his money for good. The AI centers and SpaceX are destroying fragile ecosystems. Musk wants to populate Mars – could that be the plan for humans after the billionaires and trillionaires have destroyed our planet and climate?

The current president has revolutionized vitriol and made it okay in politics, everyday life, and media: lies are fine, misogyny (prejudice against women), racial slurs against people of color, women, and other religions are scaling up. Slandering opponents and creating playground-like nicknames to rally crowds are part of his playbook.

The playbook is being copied in American politics and in politics in other countries.

Our country is being run by a wanna-be mob boss, and the GOP, as well as many on the Supreme Court, the highest law of the land, have caved. The media has caved. The oligarchs have reached America. Taxpayers are paying for political ads out of the White House. When the president is Republican, we go to war and huge defense contracts are given to their friends. This administration profits from the American public. Those with huge pockets want them to overflow so they support policies that make them more money.

Isn't there enough to share? Remember the saying from 1980: "he who dies with the most toys wins." It is more true now. It seems they are deliberately breaking the world so they stay on top and everyone else fades away.

Do your research. Vote. It counts. Yes, it does. Yes, we can.
